About Dr. Andrew Patel
Dr. Patel grew up in a small town in Kentucky and moved to the West Coast in high school. He attended the University of California at Davis, where he obtained a double major in Neurobiology and Psychology. He then obtained an MD with Thesis degree from the University of California, San Francisco, with a one year research fellowship at New York University. Dr. Patel completed his internship and residency training in Otolaryngology at the University of California, San Diego with an additional year of research in tumor biology. Most recently, Dr. Patel spent a year in fellowship training in head and neck oncology and microvascular reconstructive surgery at Mayo Clinic Arizona. During his residency and fellowship, Dr. Patel conducted research in tumor biology, treatment of head and neck cancer, head and neck reconstructive surgery, and hearing loss. Dr. Patel has been published in multiple peer-reviewed medical journals and has had the honor of speaking at specialty meetings, including the International Conference on Head and Neck Cancer in Toronto, Canada.
Dr. Patel is Board certified in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck surgery. His practice includes the diagnosis and treatment of the full spectrum of Ear, Nose and Throat disorders as well as treatment of head and neck cancer and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Patel has experience with both traditional and minimally-invasive procedures, including transoral laser microsurgery for head and neck cancer, treatment of endocrine disorders and treatment of skin cancers. He strives to provide the highest quality state of the art individualized care for his patients. In his free time Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with his wife and son, exercise, gourmet cooking, and exploring the outdoors in the Pacific Northwest.

Dr Patel was excellent. Within 10 minutes he discovered what my issue was, whereas I had been to a few doctors prior that could not figure it out. He didn’t throw a bunch of pills at the problem either, he gave me excellent knowledge and made sure I clearly understood my options moving forward.

Dr. Patel is amazing! I’ve been a patient for several years now and he has consistently gone above and beyond. He is extremely knowledgeable, but is able to explain things in a way that is easy to comprehend. He listens to every concern and thoroughly answers every question, never rushed, and always extremely kind. He is also an exceptional surgeon. I underwent a lobectomy performed by Dr. Patel and couldn’t be more pleased with the experience or outcome. His follow up and post-op care was timely, precise, and personal. He also personally calls his patients to discuss lab results, which is very much appreciated and uncommon compared to experiences with other Doctors. I’m not generally one to leave reviews, but Dr. Patel truly is the best. Couldn’t ask for anything more and beyond appreciative for his care.

I am always impressed when I go into the office. The administrative staff are nice and Dr. Patel is very personable and thorough. I would recommend him to anyone. I like how he doesn’t head straight to surgery/antibiotics like most doctors and takes more natural ways. I am very thankful I found such a great ent!

Mention should be made that the SW Barnes office is right within the hospital complex. I was pleased to find the free parking in the garage also.
