This was my first visit with Dr. Mayo. She was very friendly and answered all of my questions. She made me feel very comfortable. Her entire staff was very friendly and professional.

I had really good service on the day of my appt.they had a full office, however when I was called to the back office it went pretty quickly and efficiently.Staff was really nice and cooperative.It was my first office visit with Dr.Mayo.The atmosphere was very positive and delightful, especially when some of the young mothers brought their beautiful babies.

Dr. Dawn George Mayo, M.D. has been in private practice in San Antonio since 1998. She practices routine and high risk obstetrics, routine well women and problem gynecology, urogynecology, family planning and infertility.
Dr. Mayo received her bachelors degree at Tulane University in New Orleans where she majored in Biological Chemistry and Classical History, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She then attended Tulane School of Medicine where she was invited to join AOA (Alpha Omega Alpha) Honor Society in her third year.
After graduating medical school Dr. Mayo joined the United States Army and completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC. She then spent four years stationed overseas in Wurzburg, Germany. After being deployed for nearly one year with Operation Joint Endeavor, Dr. Mayo returned to the US to serve as teaching faculty at Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston. Dr. Mayo decided to make San Antonio her home after nearly 10 years of military service.
In July 2004, Dr. Mayo and her husband George opened the Mayo Women's Health Center. The office has been recognized in both 2008, 2009 and 2010 as one of the "Best of San Antonio" in the Physicians & Surgeons category.
