I called the same day for an appointment and was told to come in. Even with filling out paperwork the wait time to see the doctor was less than half an hour. The receptionist was very friendly and personable. I saw Dr. Stepanian. He clearly explained my condition and the best course of treatment for me. I was pleased with this visit.

Dr. Spellman is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery since 1997, and has thoroughly trained over 50 podiatrists in the last 25 years. Dr. Dean Spellman is an independent contractor of Family Footcare Group, PC. He has been a contributing partner to one of the largest, most successful ambulatory foot care facilities in the United States, overseeing a team of surgeons certified in arthroscopy and ambulatory foot surgery.
Dr. Spellman is on staff at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, Westchester Square/New York Hospital, and at Surgicare Center in the Bronx. He also performs procedures on a weekly basis at the practice’s main surgical facility in the Upper East Side, which also has a full anesthesiology team and 10 podiatric surgical assistants. He enjoys treating children and has been involved in children’s soccer for the past four years.

5:08 I was seen, and the whole procedure was only about 20 min. The doc was very good and quick which I appreciate , I had to get needles and numbing which i hate and he made it as comfortable as he could . Follow up is in 1 week.

Dr. Dean Spellman is amazing. He is humble, smart and very efficient when it comes down to every detail concerning any issue a patient is having. He is a great listener and has a strong belief in taking good care of all of his patients. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who is in need of a foot doctor. I am 100% certain that I will not be suffering with anymore future pain in my ankle and foot.
All pros and no cons: The wait was short and the doctor is great. The establishment is clean and the employees are so nice and patient. Thumbs up!!!

When you're in pain and just want the injury addressed with as minimal stress as possible, this appointment was that for me. Dr. Spellman tended to my situation with care and provided the immediate knowledge to expedite the care of my broken foot. He listened carefully to my explanation on how I succumbed to my injury. Took the time to make sure I saw the injury via digital imaging and then physically showed me why it happened the way it did. To further make sure his diagnosis was correct and that I wouldn't require immediate surgery; I was scheduled to get a second opinion the next day from his partner Dr. Stephanian. The office wait, both days, was within reason and the staff quite helpful and knowledgeable.

I'm not one for a negative review but I truly can't get over his poor bedside manner. I was in and out of the office in less than 20, which may sound ideal to some, but not in my situation where I expected a lot more conversation, compassion, information. This was a quick "why are you here? what do you expect from treatment? (an incredibly backhanded question), and what are you going to do to fix it for yourself?" No thanks. I'll take my business elsewhere.

After a visit to Dr. Spellman, I was able to find some reprieve for foot pain that I was having for a really long time, he did an X-ray, gave me an injection for my considerable pain which helped a lot and told me to come back in a week to check my injection site. He also fitted me with orthotics but also made it very clear that although my insurance covers it he would have to wait for a check from my insurance to cover the orthotic in order for me to receive it which sometimes takes a month, makes sense. He also said if I wanted it sooner I could come out of pocket and get reimbursed, also makes sense. At the end of the day a doctors office is a business, I was very happy with the doctor and staff and I will be going back

I went to Dr. Spellman because of foot pain, and to get orthotics. His office was very disorganized and it was hard to reach him to schedule a time to pick up the orthotics once ordered, and then to have them adjusted. It took a total of three months just for me to finally get them. Dr. Spellman seemed knowledgable enough, but did not spend enough time discussing my issues with me. The people working under him were nice but rather unprofessional. They cut my orthotics wrong without consulting him, had my first and last name spelled incorrectly on orders, and couldn't find receipt of my payment in their system. I would not recommend Dr. Spellman as a podiatrist.

He did a good job removing corns, but he did not address my concerns about foot problems I'm experiencing. When I asked him a specific question about how to strengthen my ankle so my feet don't roll over to outside he told me to "click my heels". When I asked him again, hoping he would give me a more professional answer, he repeated this and clarified that it was with the ruby slippers. This was a very disrespectful way of saying forget about trying to solve this problem. He did not address any of the questions I brought up about foot neuropathy and other problems caused by recent chemotherapy. I won't be going back.
