Dr. Nelson was very warm and attentive. I usually have a hard time going to doctor's offices because the visit is usually really quick and the doctor always wants to make changes to my lifestyle instead of working with my lifestyle. My first visit lasted more than two hours and I was happy to have that time spent with a doctor learning about me to be able to create a plan to help my ailments. Definitely plan on going again and I can't really say that about any other doctor I've seen.

I wasn't sure about seeing a naturopath but it ended up being a great experience. The first appointment was very long because she asks a lot of questions but I didn't mind. It was a good discussion, better than almost all other initial doctors visits I've been to. I got what I wanted out of the appointment and more, and would recommend her

My particular passion is Health at Every Size® and a weight neutral approach to health. I have seen that the best approach to health is to engage in healthy habits, not changing body size. People of all sizes and backgrounds experience ill health or disability, and every one of us deserves to be treated appropriately, regardless of our body size. Many things can be overlooked or over treated when body size is treated as a diagnosis. I focus on encouraging healthy behaviors in my patients to help them become the healthiest they can be. This absolutely includes loving and appreciating the bodies we inhabit.
My philosophy is that we are all in this together. If you have compassion and care for yourself, that compassion and care will extend to those around you. Naturopathic medicine is all about treating the whole person. In my mind, this means treating not just individuals, but communities. We all have incredible bodies that do incredible things, even when we are suffering. We live, breath, laugh, and love.

Dr. Nelson was very warm and attentive. Dr. Nelson was very thorough and really took her time to listen to and address my health concerns. She was non-judgmental and had a bedside manner that put me at ease. The office is in a wellness center that also performs massage therapy so it didn't have the sterile atmosphere of most doctor's offices, but was clean, professional, and smelled great.
