Dr. Deborah Ohlhausen joins the Shoal Creek office of Dermatology & Skin Cancer Centers, now part of U.S. Dermatology Partners. Dr. Ohlhausen has practiced in Northern Kansas City, for almost 20 years.
Dr. Ohlhausen received her Doctorate of Medicine at University of Missouri, Columbia, Mo. She went on to complete a residency in internal medicine followed by a year as Chief Resident at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock. She then completed a residency in dermatology at the University of Iowa.
Dr. Ohlhausen specializes in general dermatology and welcomes patients from adolescents to adults. She has a special interest in skin cancer detection, prevention and treatment as well as minimally invasive cosmetic dermatology, including BOTOX® Cosmetic.
Dr. Ohlhausen and her husband, Dr. Ward Ohlhausen, returned to his hometown of Kansas City with their two sons following her residency. Her husband practices Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Ohlhausen enjoys scuba diving, snow skiing and traveling with her family. She is passionate about supporting her community and is a co-founder of Liberty Giving Circle women ’s philanthropic group. She has also served on the Liberty School District Foundation Board of Directors.

Short wait time. While in room with doctor, she mentioned a few different meds while looking at prices on computer with nurse. I was told by doctor I’d be getting one rx by mail from Texas, but prior to leaving the nurse told me I’d be getting two rx’s and the Texas pharmacy would call me within 24 hours, which they did, but only about one rx. I called doctors office the same day of my appt. and left a message with nurse asking if there’s 1 or 2 rx’s. 24 hours after leaving message with nurse, I still hadn’t received a call back, so I called the office and spoke to someone who makes appointments and she confirmed that one rx was called in to a mail order Texas pharmacy and one rx was called into a local pharmacy. I had no idea what this second rx was, nor that it was ready at a local pharmacy. I assumed that 2 rx’s were being mailed to me from Texas pharmacy. Better communication would be helpful. I had to waste time on phone with Texas pharmacy asking questions about possibly 2 rx’s , calling doctors office twice to confirm there’s 1 or 2 rx’s and calling local pharmacy to confirm there’s an rx for me there as well.

Dr. O always listens and has an encouraging and positive demeanor. She asks about my family & once even addressed my husband's concern/question during my visit. You can tell she values your health, and patients as people.
