Dr. Mohammed received her Bachelor Degree from SUNY at Stony Brook and earned her Medical Degree at Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston Salem, North Carolina. She went on to University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) where she completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology training in 2002. She has been board certified since 2004.
Dr. Mohammed is currently the Director of the minimally invasive robotic surgery division at Clara Maass Medical Center. She has been offering minimally invasive gynecological care for the management of uterine fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding and pelvic pain for many years. In 2010, she became certified to perform robotic surgery and is one of the few gynecologist in Essex County providing minimally invasive robotic surgery. She was the first gynecologist to perform robotic surgery at both Saint Michaels Medical Center and Clara Maass Medical Center.
Dr. Mohammed chose to stay locally and set up her medical practice in Bloomfield, NJ. She also enjoys partnering with community organizations in providing information in the most current and relevant gynecological issues. She has given several talks in various community church organizations and health fairs.
Furthermore, her practice takes pride in offering compassionate and patient-centered obstetrical care. Dr. Mohammed performs her obstetrical deliveries at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, NJ.
Dr. Mohammed is originally from Ethiopia and speaks its native language, Amharic, fluently. She also has staff members that speak Spanish fluently.

She's amazing. So happy I found her. Moved from another state mid-pregnancy and her office graciously offered to take me on as a new patient. Was not comfortable with my last doc but when I met Dr Mohammed most of my fears melted away. It's our first pregnancy. She is patient and answers all our questions. I never feel rushed. She takes her time so sometimes there is a wait. It's worth the better service.

My visit was very pleasant the doctor and yhe staff were great. The only issue was that after my prescription was supposed to be called in I called the office twice then I checked back with the pharmacy and it is still not call in now its 7pm and the doctors office is closed and I have no prescription!!!!

Not a good first impression. I thought the days of waiting in the Waiting Room was over back in the 90's. If the appointment is for 10:30, Why come on time? People don't want to spend the night there. The purpose for the pre-registration is to save time. Wrong! The online ZocDoc registration was a waste of time. They could not retrieve the forms from the network, and I had to fill out the information all over again. Doc was great! but the environment will give her a bad wrap. She needs a better work force!

Really liked Dr. Mohammed. Very patient and easy to talk too. Seems like she genuinely cares for her patients and takes her time to listen and ask questions. Probably that's why wait times are crazy long. Maybe her staff should bare that in mind when it comes to scheduling appointments.
