Dr. Tekell was very kind and outgoing. I was running late to an appointment with a different doctor because of traffic and they were kind enough to schedule me with Dr. Tekell, which was a huge relief because I had been in traffic for 45 minutes trying to get from work to this appointment that I really needed. I really love this office as well, the staff are so friendly and energetic. Highly recommend!

Dee E. Tekell, O.D. is a native Texan and graduated with honors from Texas A&M University in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. She received her Doctorate in Optometry in May 2012 from the University Of Houston College Of Optometry, graduating magna cum laude and as a member of Beta Sigma Kappa, the international optometric honor society. She currently maintains active memberships in the Texas Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, and the Central Texas Optometric Society. Her specific areas of interest include fitting standard and specialty contact lenses, as well as management of glaucoma and ocular disease.
Dr. Tekell recently moved to Austin. During her free time, she enjoys working out, hiking the greenbelt, listening to live music, and playing Mario Kart on her Wii. Dr. Tekell looks forward to trying all the new things that the city of Austin has to offer as she settles in.

I got there about 25min early. The had me fill out a few forms that zocdoc doesn't have and started my appointment soon afterward. Everyone was very friendly and made sure I understood everything they were telling me.

Was frustrated that they did not check my insurance before the appointment. I ended up giving them my main insurance card instead of my supplemental vision and had to pay out of pocket for the appointment. Not their fault, but still a frustrating experience that I feel could have been avoided.
