About Dr. Karine Combe

Dr. Combe grew up in Houston, TX, and later moved to Austin, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin. She then went on to complete her Doctorate of Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. During her externships, Dr. Combe gained experience in full-scope optometry, working in primary care, ocular disease, pediatrics, and low vision. After earning her doctorate, Dr. Combe returned to Austin to complete a residency specializing in pediatrics, vision therapy, and vision rehabilitation. Dr. Combe believes that vision is so much more than just achieving "20/20". She’s passionate about equipping her patients with the tools and care they need to enhance their entire visual system and improve their overall quality of life. Driven by a commitment to lifelong learning and growth, Dr. Combe is on the path to receiving her fellowship with the American Academy of Optometry in the fall of 2025. She is always looking for new ways to enhance her expertise and better serve her patients. Outside of her professional life, Dr. Combe enjoys spending time outdoors, staying active, exploring new restaurants, and attending live music events.
