Dr. Darji is a fellowship-trained podiatrist/foot & ankle surgeon. She specializes in the treatment of complex foot and ankle problems conservatively and surgically.
She was born and raised in Chicago. She grew up performing a competitive classical Indian dance form called Bharatnatyam and successfully finished her Arangetram-A dance graduation/diploma. She knows firsthand what it means to have foot and ankle pain and how to go about rehabbing back to weight-bearing activities. She went on to become an instructor with many companies and still teaches on the weekends.
She went to UIC and obtained a double degree in Psychology and Biology where she assisted in a key research project with the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago on wheelchair patients. She went to Midwestern University in Arizona for her Masters in Biomedical Science. She completed her medical training at Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine. Then completed a three-year Podiatric Medical and Surgical Residency, with Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery, at St Vincent Charity Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. There she was the first female from SVCMC to be awarded 1st place with a scholarship fund from the OHFAMA Gerard Yu Scientific Research Competition. She advanced her techniques with the completion of an ACFAS Certified Fellowship in Illinois with Northwest Illinois Foot & Ankle Foundation.
