A native of Southern California, becoming a nurse midwife was a childhood dream for Denise — which evolved later with her own personal health experiences, childbirth, and included family members’ health experiences as well.
She considers it a privilege to provide health services to all women. Denise describes herself as an excellent listener and believes communication is one of the key elements to a great provider/patient relationship. She feels that every patient deserves the gift of time incorporated with top quality health care. She enjoys teaching and is very patient.
When not working, Denise enjoys reading and spending time with her three grandsons. She likes trying new restaurants with her four grown children. Denise has a rescue dog who she admits is very spoiled.

Denise was excellent an excellent listener and did a great job at explaining questions I had. She did not rush me out of the office. She took her time talking to me about questions and concerns I had. She was super helpful and well informed. She made sure I received the best care possible and made sure I got my blood work done as well as an ultrasound within the same day. I will definitely go back to see her, although she isn't my doctor.

Denise Castellanos is the sweetest, most compassionate and most caring person of any healthcare facility that I have ever met in my entire life. She makes you feel so comfortable and cared for. You can tell that she genuinely cares. She is always very thorough in explaining everything and also in going over medical history and procedures. She always takes the time to listen and address my concerns and makes sure that we come up with a plan that best suits me and my needs. She is honestly just amazing at her job and a wonderful and caring human being to boot. I can not say enough good things about her.

I was scheduled to see Denise as my obgyn was on maternity leave. Denise is one of the nicest woman I have ever met in my life. I could tell right away that she cared about me, my well-being, my pregnancy and my baby. Denise called me to walk through every blood test that came back and called me every time I needed to ask a question or wanted clarity on something. I consider it an honor to have met Denise and I have a special place in my heart for her. She is truly the best!

Denise Castellanos is a very personable and compassionate care provider. She always greeted me with a hug and the biggest smile. Listened intently to my concerns and never interrupted. Denise would also review our visit and what we discussed before leaving to ensure all of my questions were answered and I was at ease. I had the pleasure and good fortune of having her help deliver my babies. I would recommend her to any expectant mother without hesitation. I absolutely adore her!

I have been seen by the midwives here for my second pregnancy and they are just awesome. Denise is such a loving person makes me feel like family as soon as she walk through the door. My visit to this clinic was excellent from beginning to end. I was very impressed with the staff. Nurse Castellanos was excellent! She made me feel very comfortable and showed great care through her listening and the time she took to explain everything to me. I plan to continue seeing her in the future.

Aside from being 38 weeks prego and having to pee every 5 mins, my visit was amazeballs! I was seen right away as always and asked several times if I needed anything or was okay.
