the doctor open up with questions and answers session that was pretty good this allows me to recall any signs or symptoms of any illness I might have in the past, he is someone that spends a long time with his patients, so readers if he has to spend a bit more time with his patients just bare in mind the next patient has to wait a little longer it's call health-care and human but it's worth all the wait and he has a sense of humor so you feel comfortable. i just change my doctor to him so far i'm happy i did.

As a child growing up in Greece, Dr. Kanakoudas feverishly followed & played soccer. His talent and love of the sport was what sparked his passion for the field of health. Following an amazing opportunity to play for the reserves of AEK, an Athens-based soccer team, his interest in sports led him to receive his diploma in Physical Education & Sports Science from the University of Athens, Greece.
Upon graduation, Dr. Kanakoudas entered the New York Chiropractic College from where he received his Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C) degree. However, after a few years of practicing as a Doctor of Chiropractic, he realized a desire to offer patients more complete care. As a result, he was privileged to continue his formal education at St. George’s University School of Medicine, from where he received his Medical Degree (M.D) followed by SUNY Stony Brook Medical Center where he completed his residency training in Family Medicine.
As an active member of the medical community, Dr. Kanakoudas is involved in several organizations. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine, a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, New York State Medical Society, Suffolk County Medical Society, American Medical Society of Sports Medicine, American College of Sports Medicine and is currently serving as an Assistant Clinical Professor at SUNY Stony Brook University Medical Center.
Dr Kanakoudas maintains hospital privileges at Mather Memorial Hospital, Saint Charles Hospital as well as Stony Brook University Medical Center.

The women at the desk are so friendly. The doctor is very attentive and listens to everything I say. Makes suggestions and checks everything.
The wait is always a little long though. But that will not make me stop going there.

This was my first visit with Dr. Kanakoudas and I was very pleased with the quality of care. Dr. Kanakoudas was very thorough and explained each part of the examination. A referral and a prescription were processed immediately, and his office staff arranged a convenient follow up appointment. I just changed my primary physician designation to Dr. Kanakoudas and look forward to continuing to rely upon him for care.

Dr Kanakoudas treated my mom recently for multiple, serious ailments. She was in the hospital for a week and 4 days. Dr Kanakoudas orchestrated numerous tests and called in specialists, which led to appropriate treatment, and she is now on the road to a (hopefully) full recovery. He came to the hospital every day (including Sundays) to check on my mom.

His attention to detail and the fact that he scheduled a follow up appointment before I even had to ask. Many times, the doctor does not wish to see you to go over the results of blood tests. They just have the nurse or some other staff member call to say all OK or just briefly voice an irregularity. When the patient comes back in person, he can ask questions that may not arise over a brief phone call. The "in the flesh meeting" is much better.

Dr. K took the time to listen to me and properly diagnosis my problems - I had been tossed from Doctor to Doctor until finding Dr. K. He also followed up with the Doctor he referred me to - he found out that he could actually treat my condition this way I didn't have to go two doctors. His staff is also very helpful and make you feel welcomed - I'm very thankful that I found Dr. K!
