Dr. Chatman received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University in Cambridge,Massachusetts. He received his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville,Tn. Currently, Dr. Chatman is a Clinical Associate Professor at Fineberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University. He has practiced as an Ob-Gyn in Chicago for over 3 decades at Michael Reese, Northwestern, and Mercy hospitals. Dr. Chatman has been Chairman and Vice-Chairman (twice)at Michael Reese. He has been President of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and has written extensively for peer-review journals in the field Ob-Gyn,especially in the areas of endometriosis and Gyn surgery. Additionally, he has lectured nationally and internationally in the field of gynecological surgery and on the subject of pelvic pain and endometriosis.
The services that we provide include endometrial ablation, office Essure permanent sterilization, Pap Smear with Colposcopy, STD Evaluation and counseling, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.

I was using a contraception that required the doctor to insert it himself. One day I decided that I no longer wanted to use this type of contraception because of the side effects: nausea, mood swings, heavy and long menstruation etc. I made an appointment with Dr. Chatman to get it removed and explained to him how much i hated the side effects and that its really impacting me and i was feeling the worst i have ever felt. Since he said the IUD was lost in my uterus and he couldn't find it, he advised that i should schedule an ultrasound immediately. The radiology department was booked but since this was urgent they squeezed me right in. Dr. Chatman advised that as soon as i finished the ultrasound I should go back to his office to show the results so he could FINALLY remove the IUD. After my ultrasound i was extremely relieved that i was getting my IUD removed and went to Dr. Chatmans office and he told me that it was too late in the day for him to try and remove it. Said that he had to go home and that he would remove it after the holidays. I asked him please multiple times and he said no. I told him that it wouldn't be him that would have to deal with the pain and side effects but he was too concerned with getting home on time. I have never stepped foot in that office again.

Wait time was long, follow up wasn't great, my birth control ended up not being covered and this wasn't explained to me clearly. I ended up waiting a month before they finally told me that; they initially said it would be about a week. Go to planned parenthood.
