Dr Kasitinon is very friendly, knowledgeable and kind. He takes his time to listen and did a thorough examination, explaining his thought process clearly. He doesn’t recommend unnecessary procedures or tests and sticks to the evidence. The office is really clean and nice and the staff were also really great. I waited less than 15 mins to see the doctor which was also awesome.

Donald Kasitinon, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in treating musculoskeletal and sports injuries. Dr. Kasitinon earned his medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical School. He completed a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at UT Southwestern, where he also served as academic chief resident. He then received advanced training through a nonoperative sports medicine fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center. Board-certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2021. Dr. Kasitinon enjoys all aspects of sports medicine, but his primary clinical interests include musculoskeletal ultrasound, team and event coverage (especially basketball, football, and tennis), adaptive sports, chronic overuse injuries of the elbow and shoulder, and regenerative orthobiologic therapies such as platelet-rich plasma. He has published numerous academic articles and delivered lectures and presentations related to these topics across the nation. Dr. Kasitinon also has a strong interest in medical education and is involved in teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows. As a previous competitive athlete, Dr. Kasitinon understands the importance of sport and movement. He enjoys getting to know his patients and working with them to not only treat their medical conditions but also help them optimize function and improve quality of life. Dr. Kasitinon is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM), the Association of Academic Physiatrists (AAP), and the Texas PM&R Society. In addition, he serves on the AMSSM Education Committee and the AAP Physiatry Fund Task Force. He served as team physician for the 2021 national and PAC-12 champion Stanford Cardinal women’s basketball team and the 2021 PAC-12 champion Stanford Cardinal men’s soccer team. From 2020 to 2021, he also served as team physician for Stanford men’s volleyball, men’s and women’s track and field and cross country, and women’s field hockey. He previously helped provide medical care for the Dallas Stars (National Hockey League team) and the Irving Tennis Classic (Association of Tennis Professionals tour event). Personal Note Dr. Kasitinon was born and raised in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and was excited to move back in 2021 after a one-year hiatus for fellowship to reunite with his wife and their golden retriever. He grew up playing competitive basketball and tennis and played NCAA tennis for UT Dallas. Dr. Kasitinon still enjoys playing basketball and tennis, and his other hobbies include fantasy football, high-interval intensity training (HIIT) workouts, spikeball, traveling, eating, and spending time with family and friends.
