Really loved our first consultation she’s professional and really gets down to bolts of the issue! Which I love, I’ve been in cognitive therapy for a year and half and I know i need something else, dr zarersky was observant and knowledgeable! Can’t wait for the progress!

I felt very comfortable talking to her, and felt she listened to me and was very helpful
I feel hopeful, where there was little. Dr. Zaretsky is professional and knowledgeable.

Very knowledgeable. I felt she knew exactly what the issue was and how to treat it.

"I've dealt with abuse my entire life" "Are you sure?" 'nuff said.
She may not have a warm personality, but she knows her medications.
Poor advice, wasted my time. Pushed me to argue with my husband.
She was friendly, Upfront and straight to the point. I love that.
She is very nice and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend

I traveled over 45 mins because this wAs the closest dr to take my insurance. I told her my situation beforehand and she decided to take me. During our appointment she went from saying she would help me and two seconds later changed her mind and told me to find a different dr. Blew my mind how one minute she was so helpful to just shutting me out and telling me to go elsewhere.
She’s a terrible doctor. Not even sure she actually has a degree from this country. She is very focused on superficial topics. Often easily agitated. Long wait time.

I like Doctor Zaretsky, even though I've read some reviews that some people thought she's appeared as "cold". She did seem a bit intense but I like her vibe, very smart, calm and direct. She prescribed me some of my old prescription and also provided me other stuff to try, and asked me to contact her if I had any problems.
I liked her
She seems very racist. She denied to take me as a patient with very bad excuse and suggested me I should psychiatrist. But I thought she is a psychiatrist but the main reason she denied to take me a patient because I wear hijab. The moment she saw me she gave me a look and didn’t even listen to me properly and the entire visit was done in 15minutes where it usually take 30-45mintues when you do a first visit with psychiatrist. She also denied to see my test reports. I want to if she is a psychiatrist then why can’t she treat me

My appointment was for 11 and I did not get seen until about 11:45 but I figure it was because I was a new pt. Overall I thought Dr. Zaretsky was great . She took a thorough history and listened to-what I felt my issues were and explained to me different approaches we can take manage my anxiety. I did not feel rushed at all and she made sure I didn’t have any questions or concerns before I left . I recommend her !
It was just oh k.
Very caring doctor and listened to my concerns.

She listened well and was very understanding.
If you want someone that interrupts you constantly, belittles you, and promotes their beliefs instead of being cordial about your own, then this doctor is right for you. However, if you are looking for someone that actually seems like they want to be there, that respects what you have to say, and actually wants to help you, please look elsewhere. I have never felt so frustrated or blatantly disrespected with someone considered a professional.
I strongly recommend Dr. Zaretsky for psychiatric treatment. I was in a place unfamiliar to me (severe depressive episode) and desperate to find someone good to work with. She was recommended by a friend who is a psychotherapist. Dr. Zaretsky has a very busy practice (she takes many insurances) so I knew to expect to wait to be seen. My wait time was way shorter than I expected. The practice is managed by her assistant Rachel who is extremely organized and efficient. Dr. Zaretsky conducted a thorough assessment/evaluation and gave me an interesting interpretation of my symptoms, which was super helpful. She was supportive when I struggled to talk about some difficult issues. I left her office feeling confident in her recommendation and medication and will be following up in 2 weeks. Not a great area to find parking, so public transportation is probably the best way to go -- her office is a few blocks from subway.
I have found Dr. Zaretsky to be a very professional and knowledgeable physician. I could not recommend her enough. The office staff has also been gracious in dealing with some pharmacy issues I had. Scheduling and appointments have been easy to make.
I thought she was very rude. She wouldn’t let me tell her why I was there. I was trying to give her the background story so she would understand, but she kept cutting me off. I would never go to her if I were suffering from depression or anxiety. I can’t understand why she chose this field in medicine.
Dr. Zaretsky is straight to the point, but has the air of a tired DMV employee. Got the feeling that she does the bare minimum and is ready to retire. I would go elsewhere for someone who seems more energetic and concerned. She fills scripts and does her job. Office is organized. Friendly staff.
Very to the point, in a good way. Not the doctor to go to if you’re interested in talk therapy. Wanted to change one of my meds and gave me a thorough explanation of her reasoning. Very knowledgeable about specific meds and side effects. I didn’t feel like I had to fight to get effective treatment.
Dr Z's slowly changing my life, and I couldn't be happier. Her best trait is her honesty, some may be turned away by her lack of sugar coating but it's helping me fix identify my problems and attack them head on. Highly recommended
Wait times can be a little long but I've been seeing Dr. Z for years and she has really helped me out. Very Highly Recommended!!!!
Really short wait time. Staff communicates with you via text too which is a huge plus, especially for when I'm at work during the day. Secretary was nothing but nice to me. Dora is awesome. She's right to the point, asks the necessary questions, and asks your opinion on things that are relevant to your treatment. The less positive reviews posted about her, in my opinion, are from people better suited to a psychologist. She's not there to give you tissues and coddle you - but she's appropriately understanding. She doesn't rush the appointment like some say; she just makes sure it stays on topic. No different than any other doctor. Office is clean and comfortable, albeit not the most modern. But this is NY, we all built-last-year Manhattan high rise office rent is far from affordable. Definitely going back to see her again.
Dr. Zarestky is a great doctor. I told her my issues, she listened, took down notes and asked various questions to diagnose me further. All in all she gets right to the point. Will be seeing her from now on.
My first visit I was skeptical,I didn't know what to expect, but once we started to talk she knew what to ask and I had my questions for her to start the process of getting me better. It's all about being honest with yourself and the doctor. Next few sessions where interesting to meet and talk to find the root cause of my problems. Now we are working together to manage myself. Definitely a good doctor.
I choose this doctor b/c she accepted Medicaid. From my understanding, not a lot of ppl take it, so I had to see this doctor a bunch of times. I noticed a few times that other patients were seen before me and showed up after me. The staff and the doctor are not sensitive and somewhat rude, The receptionist seems unfamiliar with the use of a computer and takes a long time to do one task. They don't accept credit cards, so you can't use FSA/HSA cards. The billing person actually seems accurate and knowledgeable. The doctor is hard to understand at times, doesn't describe everything to u about your medications or her diagnosis, doesn't spend a great deal of time with you and doesn't have good office hours. On one occasion, I started crying and I took a tissue from her desk and she told me that it was her tissue box. I apologized and explained that I thought it was for patients, she replied, "no, that's for me". Overall, I would not recommend this doctor unless you have no other choice.
I IGNORED ALL THE REVIEWS I SAW HERE. I gave the doctor the benefit of the doubt and started going to her. At first she seemed somewhat alright to deal with. But as time progressed I realized her professional manners were not there. The sessions would be rushed, not much would be spoken of. It would honestly probably be 10 minutes or so. She'd follow up, ask general questions, etc. GOODBYE. I stopped going to her for a bit because I was dealing with certain issues. When I call back to make an appointment the nasty attitude reception lady said the doctor can no longer see me. I was never given any reason for this. When I call back and ask what the reason was for she hangs up on me. This is just a terrible clinic. I would not recommend ANYONE here. NEVER. Please look up other reputable doctors in the area.
Bit of Rude woman
I am not happy with my visit at all. I was given a phone call before the visit to go over my current treatment plan with my prior doctor and a myriad of other questions. I was told at the end I would be able to continue my plan once I came in. I came in today and the doctor told me that my last doctor didn't do things correctly and she would not be continuing the treatment that has proven to work. She was constantly pushing big pharmaceuticals which I felt she was being paid from as I consistently said I did not want to take them. She told me fine and prescribed something she said was none of the sort. I picked it up and looked up more information about the drug and it was exactly what I said I didn't want. The location is in an old apartment building with civilians and doctors. Also the doctor does not take credit card or HSA cards, and it's a good thing for her because I would've already issued a chargeback. I will continue looking for a doctor.
Smart and level headed,
I found the experience very strange. She was actively rushing me out the door at 20 minutes ( I was under the impression a normal appointment lasts 45.) I respect that the doctor and I had different ideas on treatment but her approach was oddly (and borderline inappropriately) aggressive. There was a real disconnect between what I was saying and how she would respond. Would not recommend.
Great!
