Dr. Shmukler is a board certified cardiologist with additional training and board certification in Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Shmukler completed his undergraduate training at the prestigious New York Univeristy, and graduated Cum Laude with Bachelors degree in Biochemistry. His special interest focused on research in organometallic compounds, and he completed a National Institute of Health (NIH) sponsored research internship program at Stony Brook University .
Dr. Shmukler persued his medical education at the State University Downstate College of Medicine. A good part of his clinical years were spent in the famous Kings County Hospital where he encountered an unmatched variety of patients, including rare and one of a kind cases. This is where Dr. Shmukler developed a keen interest in Cardiovascular diseases.
He then went on to complete his residency in Internal Medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, part of the Albert Einstein School of Medicine. This was followed by the prestigious fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases within the North Shore and Long Island Jewish Health Care System. Dr. Shmukler became an expert in echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. He has been practicing Cardiology at this location since 2006.
