Not only did I fill out paperwork on zocdoc, but as soon as I get there they have me fill out the same paperwork again. Okay, so I know some offices don't use the zocdoc paperwork so I let it go. My appointment was at 9:45. I wasn't called back until 11:40. Then when I was called back the assistant asked me a whole bunch of questions, a lot of which I had already answered.... twice. The doctor was fine, but not worth the almost two hour wait. I've worked in several doctors offices, there is no reason for a wait that long. Should of read the reviews before I booked the appointment, instead of after.

This was the 4th (and last) time I have seen Dr. Mekala. Each time I have had to wait 30 minutes or longer before being taken into a room. Then typically there is another 10-15 minutes before you actually see the doctor.
Each of my visits have required further tests and a follow-up. On the follow-ups, he is never prepared and hasn't looked through the test results so he never has a plan of action. The first time I was referred to another doctor and she found the and solved the problem. This time, he wanted to send me for additional tests despite the fact the tests were already run (he just hadn't scrolled down far enough on the chart).
I have complained each time about the lengthy waits and he tries to say it's because he takes time with each patient. It's because he trip books appointment times and is perpetually behind schedule.
This last visit is my last visit. He prescribed a medicine for me. When I got to the pharmacy, they couldn't fill the prescription because he hadn't provided the correct details in the prescription. The pharmacy tried him that day and again the next morning and never got a response. I have called him twice today, been hung on once and still don't have an answer nor do I have the prescription.
Dr. Mekala is very nice but his practice is hopelessly disorganized and its the patients who suffer.

I waited in the office for an hour and in a room for half an hour before I saw Dr. Mekala. Told me to get x rays done but didn't follow up or even tell me where or anything. Fairly unconcerned with my issue and a very awkward man

i have had more than one time that i have gone in for an appointment and when i got there was told no appointment was ever scheduled and had to wait for roughly 3 hours before being seen. also, multiple times i have arrived at my appointment on time and had to wait hours due to the office running late. not once has any of the staff ever apologized for anything. they made it seem as if i was inconveniencing them by complaining. i have been deployed twice to Iraq and suffer from certain psychological issues and was informing Dr. Mekala so that i may be put on appropriate medication. the first think he said to me was "no soldiers anywhere else have issues like this, i guess american soldiers are just mentally weak.
