Fellowship-trained spine surgeon Dr. Dwight Tyndall is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and recognized as one of the top spine surgeons in the country. His expertise includes evidence-based nonsurgical and surgical care using the latest procedures and techniques, such as disc regenerative therapy and disc replacement surgery.
Through his work with many spinal implant companies on the development of new spinal surgery technologies and instruments, Dr. Tyndall is a pioneer in the field of minimally invasive, motion-sparing, and outpatient spine surgery. These technologies have advanced the field of spinal surgery, providing faster recoveries, less pain, and better patient experiences. Although he is well known for his advanced surgical skills, Dr. Tyndall strongly believes that nonsurgical solutions should be explored first before recommending surgery.
Before beginning his practice, Dr. Tyndall received world-class education and training. He completed his undergraduate degree, medical degree, and general surgery internship in New York City at CUNY School of Medicine, NYU Grossman School of Medicine, and NYU Langone Medical Center respectively. For his orthopedic surgery residency, he went to Palo Alto, California, and trained at Stanford Medical Center. Dr. Tyndall then completed an exclusive fellowship in spine surgery at the world-renowned Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
Dr. Tyndall shares his research, insights, and experience at physician conferences, as an editorial board member at SpineUniverse.com, and as clinical faculty at Indiana University Medical School. He has also published numerous studies and articles, including clinical journals such as Clinical Orthopaedic and Related Research and Journal of Orthopaedic Research. Through all his pursuits, Dr. Tyndall remains passionately dedicated to improving the level of specialized spinal care to offer patients the best possible outcomes.
