Well known for her sense of humor, but better known as a board certified endocrinologist, Dr. Tokayer established Elite Diabetes and Endocrine Specialists after working for several prestigious endocrine groups. She wanted to give patients a more-intimate boutique experience. She was awarded Outstanding Physician by Boca Regional Hospital for her work in diabetes education. She also focuses on thyroid and parathyroid disease, pituitary, adrenal, and metabolic disorders. She has been selected a Castle Connolly Top Doctor by her peers.
Born to Holocaust survivors, she grew up and trained in New York with the determination to make the world a better place. Working one on one with patients is what it takes to make meaningful change. At Elite, we provide the support to assist patients in reaching their goals, and then push them just a bit more. She and her husband (rheumatologist Dr Amiel Tokayer) met while attending SUNY Downstate Medical School and went on to train at Winthrop Hospital NYU Langone. They have 5 children who make the world a more interesting place.
