Overall this was a great experience. I was able to see the doctor during my lunch break for my annual eye exam. The front desk staff could've been a little friendlier/warmer but it made no difference to me. I'd go back due to convenience and quick service.

This place is fine and the optometrist was friendly enough, but the whole eye exam felt pretty rushed.
Dr. Abilevitz was efficient, brisk, and thorough. Took the time to double-check a trouble spot.
Dr. Abilevitz is patient and willing to answer all of your questions, which is very helpful.
Great thorough eye Dr! Front desk staff seemed busy and distracted but was a pleasant visit.
Experience was wonderful! The doctor was super sweet and personable! Highly recommend

Great! It's a bit tacky in a glasses hut type shop but really fun.

She was thorough and very pleasant. I will definitely go back.

Very thorough exam using state of the art equipment, fast, easy, informative review of exam results, good advice for ongoing preventive measures, small change in Rx from previous year.

Excellent bedside manners. Doctor took the time to communicate patiently and ensure i left the office without any lingering questions. Overall great service and would certainly recommend.

The visit was efficient, which I appreciated. Everyone I interacted with, from the OD to the staff receptionists, was friendly and competent. Also, I was able to get an appointment just one day in advance.

She got the job done quickly and concisely.
Elana was very thorough and friendly. I went in just for a contacts & eyeglasses prescription - Elana was gentle & to the point. The front desk staff was friendly as well. Waited just a few minutes and was in & out of there in less than 30 minutes... would definitely return next time I need an eye exam.

Meticulous and approachable.
She is pleasant and seems to be knowledgeable. The office is located inside Len Crafters which makes her office to be more commercial than professional.
I really like seeing this provider, she's great. My only caveat is that this practice rather strongly recommends an additional retinal scan that isn't covered by insurance and costs another $40 out of pocket, and which I don't personally consider to be medically necessary. But they insist. It's only every 2 years that I see them, so I went with it.
After filling out paperwork I waited about three minutes and then was brought in. Everything was professional and quick, but Dr. Abilevitz made sure to ask if everything was comfortable. I was disappointed to discover that insurance doesn't cover contact lens consultations, but that's not the doctor's fault.

The front desk staff are great, very friendly and approachable and resolved my insurance issue for me very quickly and gladly answered my questions. I wasn't seen at my exact appointment time but this is because I had paperwork to fill in so allow time for that if it is your first visit - the routine visit was thorough and Elana Abilevitz was knowledgeable and answered all my queries without making me feel like she was rushing me. Would definitely recommend.
The office is in the back of LensCrafters across from Grand Central. Dr Abilevitz was very nice and I didn't have to wait long to see her. She was very professional and able to diagnose quickly/efficiently and then gave me a prescription. I bought a pair of glasses at the LensCrafters which had a great selection and turnaround in one day.
provided good suggestions for overall eye health.
Elana was very nice and responsive. She is really quick going through the exam, which at times can be mistaken for being rushed out, but I think this is more responsive to the go-go-go nature of New York. When I raised a concern about an eye condition, she responded immediately and further examined my eyes. The appointment was relatively quick (10-15 minutes), but I also went for just a simple contact lens fitting, and she was able to base my new prescription mainly on my recent glasses Rx.
Elana Abilevitz appears to be an excellent optometrist and with a very good bedside manner. However, having to wait for over half an hour to be seen, especially when one arrives early to fill out all necessary forms, is unacceptable. Patients, just as much as specialists, do not have time to waste. This is not a reflection of her expertise, but it reflects negatively on her professionalism if her staff allow patients to wait this long without an explanation or at the very least, an apology. I should note that Ms. Abilevitz did apologize after I brought it to her attention.
Terrific
My visit went pretty well and quick.
Very nice doctor. I really only went to get a new prescription, we did some useful tests, doctor gave me trial contact lenses to see them in her "machine" while in my eyes, in general - practical and nice visit. They have some very nice specials on lenses as well.

Doctor is very friendly and professional.
Dr. Abilevitz is very friendly and personable. She seemed very knowledgeable and up-to-date as far as contacts and allergy medications go. The staff at the front desk were all super friendly and very clear with their explanations of payments, insurance benefits, etc. I was glad to find such a friendly group of people so close to my job!
