Dr. Elguera was born in New York City in 1964 to a physician father and a nurse mother. Dr. Elguera's father was from Peru and she is fluent in medical Spanish. Dr. Elguera's mother's family has resided in the United States for over 100 years.
Dr. Elguera obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Johns Hopkins University and her Doctor of Medicine degree from Yale University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine in 1997. Dr. Elguera has been providing OB/Gyn care in the Northern Virginia area since 1997. In 2005, Dr. Elguera decided to concentrate on providing gynecological and preventive care for women, and has stopped providing obstetrical care.

The office look a little dirty and messy, and when I ask a simple question to the doctor after 2 appointments , the doctor told the secretary I have to have another appointment to answer the new cuestion.And she does not speak Spanish well!

I had a very disappointing visit with Dr. Elguera today. If I hadn't waited so long to get an appointment, I would have left before my annual exam had even begun. When going over my medical history, I told Dr. about my father who has previously had 2 heart attacks. Dr. said to me, "Well, that makes him a ticking cardiac bomb." I was complete appalled and disturbed by this unprofessional comment. The rest of my experience with Dr. continued to be unpleasant. Dr. Spoke so quickly, rehearsing what seemed to be scripts that she had memorized. She didn't smile or show me that she generally cared. I will be finding a new doctor for sure for future visits.

I really liked Dr. Eluera. She was running a little behind but that didn't really bother me as her demeanor and bedside manners were excellent. She was very nice and knowledgeable. Definitely going back and would recommend her to anyone

She doesnt want to waste your time but at the same time doesn't make you feel extremely rushed. She is pleasant and I felt comfortable the whole time. The wait was a little long (25 mins) but that can happen anywhere. Would recommend her!

If you have a 2pm appointment don't show up till 2pm... they won't let you in to the office since its their group 'lunch and administrative duties hours' and you end up either waiting in the weird nook in front of their office or your car.
Please note that during this time period (12-2) they also won't answer the phone. So don't call.
