I went because I have dark/black colors on my face in a few places. She looked them over and then went thru my med list. She ased how long I had been taking one of my meds. I told her for many years. She said that was what was causing the skin tinting. She prescribed a new topical med to for replacement. Very efficient and answered all my questions. Would recommend her highly.

Dr. Elizabeth Piantanida is the founder and director of Skin MD Dermatology and Skin Enhancement Center. She grew up in San Diego, CA and received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of California, San Diego. She obtained her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine with academic honors, leading to her election to the AOA Medical Honor Society. She later completed her Dermatology residency training at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center/National Naval Medical Center in the Washington DC area. Dr. Piantanida is Board Certified in Dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology and is a fellow of both the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. She serves as adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology through Mt. Sinai School of Medicine and the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences School of Medicine. Her areas of expertise include general, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. Her experience includes medical directorship at The Skin Enhancement Center of Pinehurst Dermatology, NC. She has 14 years of experience with Botox, injectable fillers and numerous skin laser systems. When not working, Dr. Piantanida enjoys hiking, skiing, traveling and spending time with her husband and three sons.

I wanted 40 minutes and was not seen. There seemed to be a great deal of confusion about who was seeing me and the office staff did not do a good job of letting the doctor know that I was waiting. Left without seeing anyone. Guess they don’t need new paying patients very badly. I won’t be going back.

I chose this office to have a mole removed for biopsy because they accepted my insurance and seemed very nice. I was not disappointed! The staff was very kind, the waiting room was SUPER cute and cozy, and the doctor herself was friendly and informative as well as comforting. I had a punch biopsy which was no fun, but I'm glad I had it here. 10/10 do recommend.

This was my 2nd appt. I decided to give them another try. I should've went with my first instinct. The Dr and her assistant were both rude. I won't return or recommend anyone.

I went in for an annual cancer screening because I have a lot of freckles and moles and it had been a while since my last checkup. Dr. Piantanida was very thorough, professional and knowledgeable and explained everything to me in terms I could understand. She actually ended up conducting two small biopsies on "bumps" on my face using Lidocaine and her little "cookie cutter." She was very gentle and I barely felt a thing. I'm hoping my follow-up with her next week will be a positive one when I get the results back.
