About Giulia Brighi Donato

Giulia Brighi Donato was born and raised in Genova, Italy. She came to the United States to study abroad, and little did she know she would fall in love with the place, the culture, and the people.
Giulia earned a bachelor's degree from Holy Names University in Oakland, California, followed by her Master of Nursing with a Family Practice track, also from Holy Names University.
As an RN, Giulia focused her work in pediatric oncology and hematology, working for Children's Hospital Oakland and George Mark Children's House.
When she went back to school to become a nurse practitioner, Giulia completed her training at Holy Names University, where she was able to pursue her passion in family practice through clinical rotations at Highland Hospital in Oakland, Stanford University in Mountain View, and Roots Community Health Center in San Jose.
Giulia has a wide range of expertise, offering pediatric care, adolescent medicine, adult medicine, women's health, and geriatric care.
When she is not at work, Giulia enjoys cooking, hiking, and spending quality outdoor time with her husband, her three children, and two dogs.

Guilia has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, as do I.... it was a rare and very welcome surprise at my first appointment a year ago to find out that my PCP actually not only understood, but lives with the same rare genetic condition as myself. Every other PCP in my life has either 1) googled it in front of me, not to mention asking me how to spell it, 2) heard of it from a single paragraph they read 50 years ago in their second year of med school, or 3) have had a patient or two with it over the last few decades, but have zero idea of how it interacts with my other rare conditions - postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome and systemic Mastocytosis.
If Guilia isn't intimately familiar with something, she has no problem saying as much and that she'll research it.
She also employs her own personal PT in house - anybody who has a connective tissue disorder knows exactly how amazing it is to have a (EDS friendly) PT in house who won't cause a subluxation or dislocation. 10/10!!
