She took so much time with me and listened well. Each of her questions proved how on-track she was as to why I was there. Her office staff is also very warm and friendly.

I am a board-certified family physician with many years of experience in family medicine and primary care. As such, I treat most medical conditions. I provide primary care for acute and chronic ailments, offer preventative advice, educate patients about their health conditions, and refer patients to specialists as needed. Besides providing primary care for my patients, I have special interests in women's health, skin conditions, sports medicine, fitness and nutrition as well as preventative and alternative approaches to optimizing health.
I believe that spending more time with my patients is essential to providing good medical care. I provide an alternative to high-production, hamster-wheel-style practices, by scheduling visits that are longer and more relaxed. I especially enjoy educating my patients about the prevention and treatment of their medical disorders and health conditions.
In addition to a medical degree and a residency in family medicine, I have received advanced training from the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine, founded by Andrew Weil, MD, at the University of Arizona. As an integrative family physician, I embrace therapies from both the conventional and alternative medical fields and enjoy collaborating with patients to find the right treatment mix for them.

Friendly staff, good follow through and I really appreciate the time Dr. Smoots spends w/patients -- doesn't feel like she's trying to rush off to see another patient and takes the time to listen and talk w/patients during visit.
