In 2009, Dr. Ellis joined the Digestive Center of the Palm Beaches to provide outstanding, academic level gastroenterology care to the Palm Beach community.
After receiving his undergraduate and medical school degrees at the Ivy League's University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Ellis completed his Internal Medicine residency at Yale University. Dr. Ellis went on for fellowship training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the prestigious Mount Sinai Hospital of New York.
While at Yale University's New Haven Hospital, Dr. Ellis received the Chief Resident Recognition Award given to the senior resident with the most exceptional leadership, work ethic, professionalism and commitment to patient care.
While at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York (considered by many to be the most prestigious Gastroenterology Department in the United States), Dr. Ellis was awarded and chosen amongst his peers to be the Chief Gastroenterology Fellow. In June of 2009 he received an appreciation award for “enthusiastic and skillful leadership of the fellows and devotion to the academic missions of the Medical Center.”
After becoming exceptionally skilled in colonoscopy and endoscopy, Dr. Ellis spent his third year of fellowship as the "advanced endoscopy fellow" dedicated to endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and fine needle aspiration techniques. He was certified by Mount Sinai School of Medicine in EUS and is the first physician at Good Samaritan Hospital to perform EUS.
Because of Dr. Ellis's vast experience in managing patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease), Dr. Ellis was appointed to serve on the medical advisory committee to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation's South Florida Chapter.
Dr. Ellis is now chief of gastroenterology at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Seams to be a good doctor but his second opinion was a bit rushed. Not enough time to hear and hear all my concerns. Maybe that was the only opinion there was but I was looking for more help to investigate the issue.

I liked Dr. Ellis who is very personable and seems like a good doctor. He ordered a test to make sure that my problem is not more serious than what appears to be a minor cause. That said, his office staff is abrupt and not helpful. I filled out all my forms on Zoc Doc yet they made me duplicate one of the long forms telling me, "I don't know where they get those Zoc Doc forms. They are not like ours. You have to fill this out." Not warm and fuzzy for sure. And what I needed to fill out was a LESS COMPLETE questionnaire than the one I completed IN GREAT DETAIL on the ZocDoc website. Abrasive office staff never very appealing!!! The wait to see this doc was ONE HOUR. Too long to have to wait for ANY doc!
