Dr Elliot Goodman grew up in England and went to Cambridge University for his undergraduate and medical education. He moved to the USA in 1990 and trained in general surgery at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He was a research fellow at Columbia University from 1992 to 1994. After completing his training, he joined the surgical faculty of the New Jersey Medical School (1997-1999). Since then he has been on the faculty of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (1999-2015) and the Icahn School of Medicine of Mount Sinai. Dr Goodman is a visiting professor at two medical schools in Israel (Bar Ilan University and Ben Gurion University).
