More about Emily Carney, MS, RDN
Emily’s enjoyment of cooking satisfying meals and experiencing new cuisines at a young age fueled her interest in pursuing a career in nutrition. She wanted to better understand how nuance in buying, preparing, eating, enjoying, and talking about food can impact our health and relationship with food. As a dietitian, she believes in a comprehensive approach to nutrition that encourages the exploration of all areas of wellness, including physical, social, emotional, and environmental aspects, to determine tailored interventions for her clients. She has a background in working with clients with eating disorders and can support clients struggling with disordered eating or anyone looking to build a healthy relationship with food and their bodies. Emily is a Health at Every Size-informed provider and loves incorporating Intuitive Eating principles into her practice. Cooking demonstrations, grocery list planning, and meal support can be incorporated into sessions as needed. Emily graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and a Master of Science in Nutrition from the University of Vermont. She then moved to Miami, FL to complete her dietetic internship. Emily has lived all over the East Coast and currently lives in Bethesda, MD. When she isn’t seeing clients, she is likely taking her dog, Scottie, on a long walk, reading or attending a pilates class.
