About Daniel Kreaps

My interest in nutrition began when I realized healthy foods were about much more than just staying skinny. Nutrition impacts every facet of life and well-being-it can support mental health, physical performance, skin health, improve sleep, and much more. Understanding the power of nutrition motivated me to change my own eating habits and inspired me to share this knowledge with others. I currently work in an inpatient hospital setting specializing in cardiac nutrition. My work ranges from managing heart failure to optimizing nutrition before and after open-heart surgery, as well as providing renal diet education. I also work on a surgical unit focused primarily on gastrointestinal surgeries, where nutrition support-whether enteral or parenteral-is often necessary. My mission is to share my passion for nutrition and inspire others to make positive changes in their lives. Focusing on nutrition can be a self-empowering journey, giving people a sense of control over their health and outcomes. My mom once said, "Those diseases are just things you get when you get older, right?" I want to help others, as I helped my mom, realize that many diseases can be prevented through nutrition. I hold a Master's degree in Dietetics from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Kent State University. These degrees uniquely position me to support clients through behavioral change. In my personal life, I enjoy movies, cooking, going on walks, and watching basketball on TV.
