Dr. Eric Chenven graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in biology from Brandeis University in Waltham, MA. He completed his medical degree at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and served his surgery and urology residencies at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ.
Dr. Chenven was then selected to and completed a fellowship in Endourology/Laparoscopy at the Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. He was awarded the Pfizer Scholar in Urology and the Gerald P. Murphy Scholar awards in his final year of residency.
He is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a member of the American Urological Association and the American College of Surgeons, Endourology Society. He sits on the Cancer Committee and the Surgical Quality Assurance Committee at Broward General Medical Center (BGMC), where he was formally also Medical Director for Laparoscopic and Minimally-Invasive Urologic Surgery.
Dr. Chenven joined the practice in 2003 as the first new urologist to come to Fort Lauderdale in over ten years. He has been voted one of only three Top Doctor urologists in Broward County, by his peers, for the past THREE years (2010-2012). He has been in commercials for one of the local cancer centers and on TV programs, such as NOVA Southeastern's Dateline Health, to discuss minimally invasive surgery and urologic issues facing men and women. He specializes in minimally invasive urology with special training and interests in laparoscopic and robotic urologic surgery and endourology. Dr. Chenven is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at NOVA.

My dr refers me to broward urology center after being diagnosed with testicular cancer.
I made an appt on ZocDoc . Today when I show up, “Yeah, we get told that a lot from patients about Zoc Doc, but we don’t accept appointments from them.”
“Why do you allow your practice to be available for appointments?”
Blank stare.
“The soonest we can get you in is end of Feb.”
“I did ask a question.”
Blank stare.
“There’s my answer. Now, do you need an appointment?”
Oh, and the guy next to me made an appointment for 12 and they said he was an hour late. He had to pull up his confirmation emails to have them honor his existing appointment. All they have to do is call Zoc Doc to be removed, and they’re too lazy and unbothered to do that.
This is how this practice treats people already emotional as it is. Zero care, zero concern, and zero customer service. No one should be treated like this—much less when dealing with cancer.

I was amazed and please that I was able to get an appointment as an new patient within 2 days. Very nice and clean office. Dr. Chenven was very friendly and thorough. We have a follow up appointment with him. Only issue was I completed what I thought were the patients paperwork online but had to do them all over again when I got to the office because the two are not linked.

This office was a breath of fresh air. Everybody at the front desk was nice and accommodating. I was hardly seated in the waiting area before I was called by a medical assistant and brought to an exam room where she took my history. As soon as she was finished the doctor came in and saw me. He reviewed the information, asked my why I was there, and we went from there. The whole experience was so much better than my last urologist who had the attitude of "I'm the doctor, don't ask me questions." So glad I found Dr. Chenven. No I don't have to dread seeing the urologist like I did before.

Doctor spent most of his time entering data into a computer which was then erased. I saw him at the end of the day, and would have liked more time. I don't feel that I had a chance to tell him everything I needed to or to find out what I needed to know. I still think he is competent.

most of the wait time was to fill out paperwork because i didn't do that beforehand. Otherwise the visit was fine but i'm more interested in the follow up so we can know exactly what my problem was and how we are gonna fix it.
