Eric J. Eross, D.O.
Dr. Eric J. Eross is a fellowship-trained neurologist specializing exclusively in headache medicine. To date, he has successfully treated over 15,000 patients suffering from an array of headache-related disorders.
Dr. Eross has the honor of being one of an elite group of specialists having successfully completed a two-year headache medicine fellowship at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic. He completed his residency in neurology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA). He completed his internal medicine internship at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Eross obtained his medical degree from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine (OUCOM) and his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in neurobiology from Allegheny College. He has the distinction of being the first neurobiology graduate (a degree he created) from Allegheny College.
Prior to his current position as the director of the Phoenix Headache Institute (PHI), Dr. Eross was the founder and director of the Scottsdale Headache Center in Scottsdale, AZ. Immediately prior he has served as a neurology consultant with the CORE Institute, Arizona Neurological Institute and the Pain Center of Arizona. He has also served as an Associate Neurology Consultant, headache medicine specialist and Clinical Instructor at the Mayo Clinic and Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. Dr. Eross has expertise in a multitude of therapies effective for even the most complicated and medically-resistant of headache sufferers. Dr. Eross is actively involved in headache-related research and has served as lead investigator in over sixty clinical trials while at Mayo Clinic, ANI Research, the MORE Foundation and Glia Sciences, INC.

I am so grateful I found this practice. The office was perfectly suited for someone going through chronic headaches; was quiet, lights dimmed and very very clean. The staff was amazing and I truly felt heard by the people I saw - the medical assistant, the PA and the doctor. They listened and heard. I am not exaggerating when I say that having a team say "we know we can help you" was an emotional experience after having chronic headaches for years. I feel fortunate that I was able to find this practice.

Absolutely hands down one of the most kind, competent, understanding doctor we’ve ever encountered! My husband has abdominal migraines. No one would listen to him saying he was sure it was NOT a gastro problem. But Eross read all his medical records before seeing us and listened very carefully as my husband explained his history. The reassurance and proactive plan and emergency he gave us is completely priceless. Not to mention, every employee in that office struggles with migraines, Dr Eross included so EVERYONE understands your struggles and no one dismisses you as they go through all of the issues themselves.
