Dr. McDonald welcomes new insurance and self-pay patients only. In keeping with Syntrillo's commitment to transparent, accessible specialty care, the self-pay rate for a new patient visit is $350. Payment plans available; please ask our staff. OON will be charged at the self-pay rate. All follow-up appointments are scheduled through the office.
Mark McDonald, MD, MS, is a board-certified neurologist dedicated to modernizing neurological care through the use of new technology. After earning his medical degree at the University of Texas at Houston, Dr. McDonald completed both his Adult Neurology residency and Neuroimmunology fellowship at the University of Virginia.
With extensive experience providing consultations to over 400 hospitals for the nation's largest telestroke company, Dr. McDonald witnessed firsthand the gaps in traditional, reactive care. He co-founded Syntrillo Telehealth Clinic in 2020 to solve these challenges, offering patients specialist appointments in days rather than months. By integrating in-home wearables and remote monitoring, Dr. McDonald provides continuous oversight of cardiovascular and neurological health—rather than a limited snapshot during a one time visit. He specializes in managing patients with hypertension, migraine, stroke, vascular dementia, and carotid stenosis. Thanks to his diverse training and clinical background, he is uniquely equipped to diagnose complex neurological symptoms that have previously gone unexplained.

Dr McDonald was great! He made me feel comfortable and seen, and probably the first doctor that did not dismiss my symptoms. I appreciate him being able to see me on the weekend online due to my work schedule and he was more than happy to do it. I am very happy with my care with him!
