Eric grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from University of Utah in 1986. He graduated from the University of Utah School of Medicine in 1990. He completed his OB/GYN residency at University of Alabama-Birmingham where he was honored as Resident-of-the-Year twice.
Eric has been in practice since 1994. He takes pride in his patient care and continues to personally deliver over 95% of his obstetric patients. He has a phenomenal bedside manner and excellent gynecologic and obstetric surgical skills.
He has been married since 1990 and lives with his wife and four children in the Holladay area. His interests include hiking, weight training, traveling and supporting all of his children in their activities.

Dr. Nielson is great! It was only my first appointment and I'm very happy to have found such a kind and thorough doctor. He doesn't make you feel rushed and explains everything well. Going to the gyno being what it is I can't say "I can't wait to go back!" but I am certainly not dreading it. ;)

I don't think I will be going back. He was nice, but I didn't feel like he took my fertility concerns seriously. I am 27 and hoping for my first child. If I tell a doctor that I am concerned about my history of ovarian cysts and anovulatory cycles, I expect a little more then "come back in 3 months if you aren't pregnant." Maybe some advice, herbal supplement suggestions, testing done, a future game plan, exercise routine...something! I had to basically hold him back as he was trying to escape talking to me. I know you are busy doc, but I'm paying for this appointment and I have questions! Well it is about 3 months later and still no baby. So have found another doctor to see in about 2 weeks. Hopefully she will be of more assistance to me since I am once again having anovulatory cycles and I feel the pain of a possible cyst.. OUCH!

Dr. Nielson delivers almost all of his patients which is a rare find these days. He is smart, informative, timely & funny. I had specific requests for my birth which he accomodated gracefully. I have referred friends & family members to Dr. Nielson & once again they have nothing but positive things to say about him (even complicated & high risk situations) I will never see any other provider.

Amazing to say the least! I never wait more than a few minutes to see him. His staff is very friendly and knowledgable. He always takes his time in his office visits and procedures, explaining in detail. He has the best bedside manner i've ever seen in a doctor honestly. When i am there i feel more important than just another patient on the schedule. When i call into the office for prescriptions or questions i always hear back promptly. There really is nothing negative or mediocre about Dr. Nielson or his staff.

They got be back into a room fast & I hardly had to wait long to see the doctor. Most doctors I've seen in the past I had to wait over an hour, which was frustrating & difficult to fit into my work schedule. The staff was very friendly & Dr. Nielson was very professional & made me feel very comfortable. I've already referred all my friends to Dr. Nielson, because it was by far the best experience I've had at an OB/GYN's office.
