Dr. De La Torre was born and raised in the Phillipines until the age of 13 when her family moved to Houston, TX. She obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas in Austin, majoring in Biology. Shortly after she earned her degree from Texas Chiropractic College. She worked as a chiropractor for several years and realized her passion was for family health.
Dr. De La Torre earned her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, TX. She then completed her residency program at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown, Texas.
As a board certified family physician, she sees patients of all ages with an interest in preventive healthcare. She worked in an urgent care clinic in Houston until she opened her private practice, Cornerstone Family Medicine in January 2014. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Texas Medical Association, and American Medical Association.
She considers herself a coach and decision-making partner to her patients. Dr. De La Torre believes in caring for the patient as a whole, not just the sum of body parts. She feels that because each patient is different, patient care is tailored specifically to the patient's needs.
In her spare time, Dr. De La Torre enjoys traveling, she is also working on going on a mission trip to the Phillipines sometime next year. She enjoys jogging, walking with chiweenies and reading novels and medical journals.

Dr. D has been the best doctor I've ever had and I've had a few in my lifetime. She kept it 100% the entire visit and doesn't try to prescribe you for stuff you dont need. She was fun and laid back and made my visit very settling. She was very knowledgeable in everything we talked about.

She was very knowledgeable and had an answer for every question. She even gave me some quick easy facts for my own knowledge. My fiancé plans on making an appointment with her now and I will recommend her to anyone looking for a Doctor. I live an hour away and am so glad I made the trip. We have found our Doctor.

Her staff is also very friendly and people oriented. If you are looking for a new doctor, you'd be hard pressed to find better.
