Dr. Stephens is amazing! Her office provides such a nurturing & caring environment. While under her care, my daughter has received a therapeutic and caring help, she listens to her and makes my daughter feel important that when she leaves her cup is full!

The positive feedback I recieve from Dr. Stevens is great. She sends the perfect message each visit. Her words and kindness keep me motivated and give me inspiration which was once a feeling I wanted no part in. Dr. Stevens is a great therapist and I always enjoy my visits. :)

Dr. Evelyn Stephens is a double board-certified, licensed New York City psychiatrist with a private clinical practice. She is board-certified in both adult and child/adolescent psychiatry. Dr. Stephens is trained to treat a myriad of adult psychiatric disorders and issues, both through medication management and psychotherapy. Dr. Stephens utilizes aspects of supportive, dynamic, cognitive, and dialectical behavioral therapies to treat patients, as well as motivational interviewing when indicated. She treats individuals suffering from depression, generalized anxiety, panic disorder, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, substance abuse disorders, eating disorders, and personality disorders, including borderline personality disorder.
Dr. Stephens considers each patient carefully and provides a careful psychiatric evaluation upon meeting to further develop an individual treatment plan with specific treatment goals and objectives. She has a very supportive and empathic approach which many patients have said made the difference in their ability to share openly and honestly without fear of judgment.
Dr. Stephens graduated from the University of Richmond, magna cum laude with departmental honors in biology and a bachelor of Science degree and then earned her doctor of medicine degree from New York Medical College. She completed her adult psychiatry residency at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital, one of the leading hospitals in New York City for the treatment of addiction. She went on to serve as chief resident during her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Mt. Sinai St. Luke's Hospital, a leading hospital in the treatment of childhood and adolescent borderline personality disorder.
