great doctor, especially for anxiety; she's very professional but not emotionless. i have horrible, chronic insomnia in addition to anxiety and bipolar disorder. i'd been on the same medications for years before i'd visited her last week, and she wanted to change that. of course, i panicked a little, but she helped me calm down, look at things rationally, and keep an open mind. she was very comforting. now, i'm on new meds and they work well :)

Dr. Farheen Fahim is a dedicated and detail-oriented psychiatrist serving the community of Raritan, NJ. Dr. Fahim earned her medical degree from Dow Medical College in Pakistan. She then moved to the United States, where she completed her residency in psychiatry and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the State University of New York, Stony Brook.
Dr. Fahim runs her own practice. She is board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
During her consultations, Dr. Fahim fully explains patients’ conditions and helps them choose an appropriate treatment plan. She is sensitive to the uniqueness of each patient's situation and adapts her consultations and treatment options appropriately to accommodate individual needs and concerns.

Waited over an hour and a half, and Dr. Fahim had a very cold demeanor.

Saw her a few times and felt like I was being judged no matter what I said. She did not create a welcoming or safe place for me to feel comfortable with her. Also only focused on my weight and shamed me every time I stepped on a scale and wasn't any lighter than I had been 2 weeks prior. Would definitely not recommend her.

I left work early for my appt. waited roughly 40 mins. She came out an took an appt at my appt time. I signed more documents than I did when I bought a car. Most of which was how I would owe money if I didn’t follow her rules. She was unapologetic about me waiting, only justifying why she running so late. 1st time with her, last time with her. Don’t bother , stay away.

Dr. Fahim was extremely judgmental. She questioned my integrity as if this was a courtroom. I am not one who malingers, so I found her approach to be highly offensive and abrasive. She had no empathy when I spoke of my difficulties which is essential as a psychiatrist.

Dr. Fahim is a true professional who has experience and expertise, but her office is not professionally managed. I arrived 15 minutes early to my appointment and there were two clients waited to be seen. I waited an hour and 20 minutes to see Dr. Fahim. I would not recommend Dr. Fahim because of the long wait time, I do think that she is a good psychiatrist.

She could pinpoint right away that I've been suffering from anxiety since childhood, which has now grown into depression. She was very nice and asked me if I was open to medication, but didn't force me.
