Servicing northern New Jersey with offices in West Orange and Rutherford, Fawad Mian, M.D. has many years of experience in the neurology field. He treats patients with a wide range of neurological, sleep and musculoskeletal disorders. Dr. Mian has a special interest in treating musculoskeletal disorders with regenerative medicine, an alternative to traditional pain management. He has successfully treated many of his pain patients with prolotherapy and platelet rich plasma.
Dr. Mian's office also performs a wide range of neurological testing in the office for many different disorders. Additionally he offers Botox for headaches, dystonia, spasticity, as well as cosmetically. Dr. Mian also commonly treats obstructive sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome as well as other sleep complaints.
Dr. Mian holds a medical degree from the St. George's University School of Medicine. He completed his neurological residency at UMDNJ, Newark, NJ and New York School of Medicine, NY, NY. He completed his fellowship in clinical neurophysiology and sleep medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. He is board certified in Neurology, Sleep Medicine and Clinical Neurophysiology.
Prior to opening his private practice in September 2011, Dr. Mian worked at St Luke’s Neurological Associates in Pennsylvania for several years. In his free time, Dr. Mian enjoys time with his family, working out and learning the guitar.

First visit -- so far it was ok. I felt comfortable, and I felt as if I was being listened to and not brushed and rushed off. Going to any doctor can be nerve-wrecking, but I left not feeling so anxious.

Dr. Mian is incredible to deal with. Easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and answers all of your questions. Unfortunately, his staff is the complete opposite.
I had to be fitted for an EEG - a 3-day, call out of work, sit a home EEG. The two staffers who were wiring me up were talking about not knowing which wire attached to which point on my head, all with me sitting there. I was wired up three times over due to the mistakes they were making. I was then wrapped with gauze so tightly I had a headache for three days straight.
End result of the EEG? Unusable because they only gathered 20 minutes of data. Three days of misery, three days off work, for nothing. They had the nerve to ask me to come back in and do it over. Not a chance.

The staff at Dr. Mian's office was energetic, helpful and genuinely lovely. I showed up before my 9am appointment to grt things done (paperwork) and saw Dr. Mian at 9:02am.
The doctor is attentive: listens, questions and detects. Overall, best experience you could hope for!

My consultation went well but the service since has been awful. You can never speak with the doctor and when you leave messages he does not return your call. I have had issues with my prescriptions not being called in to the pharmacy when I was told they were. The receptionists are not competent and have no sense of urgency As a new patient I am very unsatisfied..I am currently researching another neurologist.

Dr Mian was the real deal. He was extremely knowledgeable and spent almost half an hour with me, diagnosing my present situation and providing excellent insight into future steps. He patiently listened to every concern and answered every question I had, no matter how relevant or silly it seemed, and I left feeling reassured and relieved that I am in the hands of someone who is intelligent, experienced, patient, and caring. Highly recommend.

My experience with the way the prescriptions ordered by the doctor was very UNPLEASANT. I was told that the prescrption will be faxed to my pharmacy and a week had passed nothing came to my mail. I called his office to follow up as I had episodes of migraine during the week and was told by one of his staff that the fax did not go through and the lady who answered the phone asked me again which pharmacy she should fax the prescription. VERY INCOMPETENT!!!

Even if it was my first visit with this doctor I felt very comfortable and he takes the time to listen, analyse and take best options of treatment. I will be following up for further treatments with this doctor. His office staff very professional and I had no waiting time to see the doctor. Highly recommended !!!!
