Dr. Martingano is always thorough and caring. He takes care of a lot of family members ND I highly recommend him.
They are great and very friendly
He is great has the best bedside manner. Very professional and answered all my questions. I have been going to him for years. He delivered my son almost 18 yrs ago.
He took his time and he listened to my concerns.... Left feeling relieved
Very helpful reception and nurse , clean office , excellent Doctor
The doctor was disinterested and aloof. He recommended me for a procedure and did not explain why or what the implications were. Very disappointed as I thought he was great prior to this.
Dr. Martingano was very professional and took his time with the exam and I had his full attention during the whole visit. He was very thorough and explained everything to my husband and I. I am very happy that I came to see him and that he will be my Doctor.
I am giving him a low score because of his staff. The doctor is great, but beware of surprise bills from this office. And don't think Corrie the person who does billing will help you, she will argue that the office NEVER knows if you have extra fees, never listen to you and go on about how great she is at her job. Will never return, but that's too bad because the doctor is great.
The doctor was very thorough. He took his time and answered all my questions and concerns. He has an excellent bed side manner and was very good about explaining what was going on during the exam. My only complaint was the wait. Over 2 hours to just get into the exam room is a bit much. And from the sounds of it, that's a normal wait time in that office. All in all it was a good experience.
ZocDoc completely let me down by not passing my information to the doctor's office and not letting them know I rescheduled my appointment; however, the administrative staff and the doctor who looked after me were so obliging to me they blew me away; I would recommend the Medical Practice highly for their customer service and speed at accommodating me even though they were advised by ZocDoc my appointment was an hour later. I will return to the Medical Practice but will not use ZocDoc going forward.
I loved the staff... I felt comfortable and will definitely keep him as my one and only OBGYN from now on!!! He's very gentle and caring and answers all of your questions in a way you would understand.
I've been going to Dr. Martingano for over a year now. He's a great doctor, listens well and is very thorough. He just moved to a new office in Manhattan and they did not seem as organized as in the past. No one called to remind me of my appointment the day before and when I got there it seemed they had booked 3 people at the same appointment time.
Dr. Martingano was the first OBGYN that I felt 100% comfortable with. He is extremely knowledgeable, a GREAT doctor, and really puts his patients at ease. Will definitely be using him only from now on.
Similar to another reviewer, I had a mail-in prescription that I needed the office to fax to my insurance company. The insurance company reached out to the office multiple times over 3 months and they never sent it. This prevented me from having my prescription covered by insurance. I called the office multiple times and they said that they would get to it. Terrible customer service. Avoid this office.
Of all the Dr.s I've visited in NYC, I have to say this staff and Dr. Martingano were kind and very good communicators. If I know anybody looking for a new OBGYN I'll be sure to recommend him.
This was my first visit with Dr. Martingano and he is very professional and makes you feel comfortable. His office staff are also helpful and professional. Overall an excellent experience.
The wait time was a little long. But overall a positive experience . The doctor and his staff are very helpful and friendly.
This was my first visit with Dr. Martingano . He has a terrific bedside manner and explains everything very clearly before he proceeds with the examination. He is very attentive to your needs and comforts and puts you at ease. I felt very confident in his care.
Had great experience. Lovely doc.
This was my first visit . The entire staff was wonderful. The Dr. Was professional and thorough, he has excellent bedside manner. I could go on and on but truly a warm comfortable professional office.
This was my first visit with Dr. Martingano. I had been going to another OB/GYN whom had ordered a pelvic MRI for suspect of a Dermoid. I waited 13 days and attempted several phone calls to discuss my MRI results to no avail. I decided to take matters into my Own hands obtaining my results from The radiology facility and makig an apt with Dr.Martingano, he explained the entire MRI and was compassionate about the decision of surgery. I cannot say enough good things about him. He made me feel comfortable and confident in his decision.
Very difficult time getting in touch with and following up with the doctor, after having had an appointment regarding a procedure that requires follow up.
Very professional and informative doctor. He answered all my questions and was very efficient during the visit. The wait time was minimal as well since I have pre-filled the forms online.
Great office location, very professional staff, environment & Doctor. I will highly recommend.
It was great. Will continue treatment with him
I was forced to switch ob/gym after 15 yrs. I found dr Martingano on zoc doc and chose his since he had good reviews and he was in the city. Following my experience I am convinced those favorable reviews are bogus. First off I waited over an hr for an appointment and was told it would be another 15 minutes. Being that I was on my lunch hour I rescheduled and this time I called before I left my office. The dr seemed nice attentive and knowledgeable. During the examination he found a polyp and took a sample to be tested for cancer . He said worst case I would need a hysterectomy and best case I would need a d&c to remove it since there is a risk it can turn into something . A few days later his assistant called to schedule the d&c and told me that he can do Saturday in his office in manhattan or Friday in Staten Island . Being a sabbath observer I could not do Saturday and I have no way to get to Staten Island . She told me she would speak to the dr and call me back . She never did . I called back a few days later and was told she was out for the week and was the ONLY person who could schedule the procedure . In the meanwhile I called several times to get my test results. No one called me back . I finally got a nurse on the phone who told me if the dr hasn't called you your tests came back fine . The dr had told me he would calls regardless . So I called a week later to schedule the d&c and Maureen was still out for another week and still have not received a return phone call. Today almost a month since my exam I called again to schedule the procedure. I was told that the dr would have to call me and the procedure suddenly needed to be done in the hospital. Mind you I STILL do not have my test results do now I'm in a panic. I left a final message that I wanted to pick up my medical records ... No one has called me back. My next call is going to be to the American Medical Association
I was pleased and very happy with his sercices.
Thorough exam and proposed trying to understand an ongoing problem that I've had, where other doctors for YEARS have simply prescribed treatment without exploring underlying cause. I'm very impressed!
Couldn't have been better.
He always asks how you are doing, goes over your chart and gives you advice and options. He's a good doctor.
This is my first appointment ever with Dr. Martingano. He was very professional but very nice, with a great bedside manner. His nurse/assistance was also very sweet and personable. It was a wonderful first experience.
I have finally given up on Dr. Martingano. I changed Drs as my previous GYN would only answer questions while I was having my GYN exam and I wanted to discuss options to treat severe menopausal symptoms. After extensively reading the reviews on Zocdoc, I thought he sounded compassionate. Went to the first appointment and he asked me why I changed Drs and I told him to which he replied, "what's wrong with that!" Despite having had all my tests (pap smear, uterine sono which were all OK and unchanged) transferred, he insisted on doing them again. He then took me out to a table in the middle of a group of offices (no privacy) and wrote me a script for HRT which I sent to my mail-in pharmacy but they could not fill because he didn't date it. They tried to call him several times (apparently) and couldn;'t reach him, so they sent the script back to me. I called the office many times but was told that this was not the Dr's receptionist, that she only worked a few days a week, and they would get back to me. They never did. After a month of numerous phone calls and being told they would call back, the script was finally filled (this was also a month without any medication and severe hot flashes etc during summer!) I will return to my previous GYN - at least I can get my prescriptions!
Waited an hour for a pap smear. The doctor refused to just do the pap smear as I was a new patient (although I explained that I had had a full exam in Europe 6 months earlier). He prescribed a contraceptive pill that was not available at any pharmacy in Manhattan and it took me two weeks to track him down to get a prescription for a generic pill (he never returned any of my calls - eventually his nurse took care of it). Would never go there again!
Truly phenomenal. Very professional, very calm, has a great sense of humor, and took interest in me as a person, asking about my life, etc. Answered all of my questions, is very well informed. I look forward to seeing him again! (How often do you say that?!)
This Doctor was very unprofessional. He started joking about something that came up in the exam and I was mortified not only because there was another person in the room but because a Doctor is supposed to keep a proper ethic. I am never seeing this guy again he was a total jerk. He is the type of person that tries to be funny too much.
Dr. Martingano is a fabulous doctor. He is thorough and has fantastic bedside manner. I have been going to him for many years. And, I would highly recommend him to any woman. He is equally as great for OB as for GYN.
He was fantastic, made me very comfortable :)
I liked that he walked me through everything he was doing. He was very comforting, polite, and knowledgeable.
One of the best experiences I've had in a long time. Dr. Martingano was incredibly thorough and not only did he listen, but he answered all of my questions and concerns as well. The other staff (nurse and receptionist) were nice and friendly and the office space was clean and up to date with technology. I totally would recommend this practice!
Great team, very friendly and personable. The doctor was very professional and thorough. I felt like all questions were answered with extreme sincerity and care.
Very helpful and informative. Dr. Martingano made the appointment comfortable and light hearted. He was also very willing to listen to me and my concerns.
Very efficient and professional! I would definitely recommend him!
Dr. Martingano was very friendly and efficient; definitely not judgmental at all. I enjoyed my appointment and look forward to coming back in the future.
Dr. Martingano himself was great; friendly and efficient, without giving a feeling of being rushed. The initial wait was very long, but I got the impression that it was largely as a result of zocdoc's failure to respond to the office's requests to change its available times--the doctor works out of a different office in the morning, and is not at the Manhattan office until 12:30pm, at least the day that I went. When they called to change my appointment time, I suspect they may have double or triple booked patients to account for the accidental morning bookings. The nurse was very nice (and distressed about my wait), and said that they have been trying without success to get zocdoc to make the changes. I'm not planning on holding it against anyone, but I'll make sure to leave extra time in my schedule next year just to be safe.
Excellent doctor, caring and I highly recommend him
Dr. Martingano was both warm and professional. Very honest, and I didn't feel at all rushed while I asked questions and received measured, thoughtful answers. His staff was also courteous and efficient.
I have been going to Dr. Martingano for many years, He is very thorough with his exam. I find him to be caring, he takes time to talk with you and does not rush you with any questions you might have.
He was great made me feel comfy and his staff were great when i got dizzy they helped me with drinks and cold towel. it wasnt rushed in any way and after we sat down in his office and he explain my meds and was even super sweet with my son. i love a doctor that makes you feel they care. see u in 4 weeks.
Very compassipnate doctor who clearly loves his profession. Despite the awful wait times in his staten island and Brooklyn offices, the world needs more medical professionals like him.
Dr.Martingo was great on explaining everything, but I waited a long time just to be seen.
Dr.Martingano is the best Ob/gyn ever! I have been a patient of his for almost 10 years and have referred many of my family members and friends to him! Look no further for the best!!
Love that he uses this website, you can make an appointment while the office is closed.
Takes time to give explanations for any questions or concerns you may have.
