Dr. Schiffer has saved my life! I was going in the wrong direction, and had seeked help before. There was no sucess in my other attemts at getting help. He has worked with me to help me with my problems no matter what! He has been the most positive impact in my life!! Without his help I don't know where I would be.

For over 30 years I have practiced psychodynamic psychotherapy for the empathic, informed treatment of patients suffering anxiety, depression, trauma, and/or addiction. When the patient and I feel medication is indicated, I prescribe it, but my primary focus is the understanding and treatment of one's inner emotional distress and its impact on one's everyday life. I am certified to prescribe Suboxone for opiate addiction.
My treatment philosophy is articulated in my book, Of Two Minds, which is available on Amazon.com, and is supported by my peer reviewed research papers and review articles, available on medline/pubmed.
I am certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and a member of the American Psychiatric Association. I am a Research Associate at McLean Hospital and a Clinical Assistant Professor in Psychiatry, Part Time, at the Harvard Medical School.

My visit with Dr. Schiffer was good one. He is very thorougho and understanding to my therapy and treatment. His knowledge on subject matter is spot on. I am very satistfied with my therapy, and I would defeatly recommend his counsil.
