Dr. Kevin DiCesare is a board-certified psychiatrist, treating adults. He received his undergraduate degree at Harvard University, his medical degree at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and then went on to train at Maine Medical Center for his psychiatric residency. He has 22 years of expertise in diagnosing and treating psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety, Bipolar spectrum disorders, adjustment problems, and other disorders. He is well versed in psychopharmacological interventions, but is a proponent of patients also seeing a therapist whenever appropriate. He prides himself in collaboratively arriving at treatment decisions with his patients, and taking the time to listen to their concerns and answer their questions.
Dr. DiCesare has worked in various settings, including community mental health centers and large hospital systems, with experience in inpatient, outpatient, and consultative roles. Prior to joining Talkiatry, he most recently served as an attending psychiatrist on the staff of Southern New Hampshire Health System, where he provided consultative care to referrals made from primary care providers and various specialists.

Because we accept insurance, we can reduce out-of-pocket expenses and still offer high-quality care. You may not have any cost related to your visit with us, depending upon your insurance plan. Most patients pay a small copay per visit, subject to any deductible or coinsurance that your health plan has. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services determines appropriate billing guidelines. These guidelines depend on the length of the visit and the complexity and severity of your diagnosis. For this reason, we need to wait until after the visit for the final determination. We then submit the claim to your insurance company. The charges are calculated based upon pre-negotiated prices with your insurance company. Your insurance company will then determine what amount, if any, is your responsibility per your insurance plan.

I was wary of doing telehealth for psychiatry but it was great. The portal and app were easy to navigate and set up and I didn't have any issues connecting on my phone for my visit. Dr. Dicesare was so nice, he took his time to understand my situation and history and made a plan with me that I felt comfortable with. He asked enough questions to understand without asking a million unnecessary questions or pressuring me to share certain details. I didn't feel rushed and felt like he really cared about helping me get to where I need to be. He was honest about possible medication limitations and issues I might have. I've seen many psychiatrists in my life and he's one of the best.
