G. Anthony Slagel, D.O., earned his bachelor of science degree and graduated with honors from the University of Dayton, Ohio. He received his medical degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Slagel completed his internship at the Grandview Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio, and his residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He was Chief of Dermatology Service at Moncrief Army Community Hospital in Fort Jackson, South Carolina, prior to moving to Georgia. Dr. Slagel is board-certified in dermatology and laser surgery.
Prior to joining the Piedmont Physicians Group, Dr. Slagel was in practice with the Fayette Medical Clinic since 1988. Dr. Slagel is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners and a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. He is a past president of the Georgia Society of Dermatologists, and he was chosen as one of America’s Top Physicians 2003 by the Consumers Research Council of America.

It is a true example of just how sad and self-centered a practice can become, even though the patients are the ones paying their salaries. As I was waiting to be called back, an elderly man that struggled to get through the door until I got up and held the door for him was late for his appointment. The lady’s exact words “ Sir you are almost 20 minutes late, I can ask the doctor if they can work you in, however I doubt they will”. The lady returns in less than a couple minutes and was more than happy to tell him she could help him reschedule now so he would not have to sit down and then be called back up. What a sad excuse for a doctor’s office. I can only hope this gentleman has the cognitive ability to find another doctor and tells everyone that will listen about his experience with Dr Slagel office.

I took my son to Dr. Slagel. I had three concerns that I wanted addressed. I was disappointed to learn that there is a two issue limit and you would need to make another appointment to address a 3rd issue. While I understand that patients can't throw the kitchen sink and take all day to be seen, but I don't know if a two ailment limit is the right answer. To be fair the two things that were addressed for my son didn't have a problem with again.
