More about Dr. G. Robert Taylor, MD
Dr. Taylor began his post-secondary education at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio and studied Biology at Boston University, in Boston, Massachusetts. He earned his medical degree at SUNY Upstate Medical School in Syracuse, New York, and completed his internship there as well.
After spending a year and a half in orthopedics, Dr. Taylor discovered that internal medicine was a better fit. "I wanted to focus on the whole person—not just one body part!" he says.
Dr. Taylor did his residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, before moving to San Antonio, Texas, in 1977 where he has since worked in private practice. “I chose to practice in downtown San Antonio specifically so I could care for a broad cross-section of patients. I enjoy interacting with patients and their families, seeing improvements in their overall well-being and being a part of their lives,” says Dr. Taylor.
He has served as Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital and has been a member and past president of the San Antonio Medicine Club. Dr. Taylor is board certified in Internal Medicine.
