Dr. DiLuozzo was fine. His office staff left a lot to be desired. On several occasions they claimed to have left messages for me which I never received fouling up my appointments.

More about Dr. Gabriele Di Luozzo, MD

Gabriele Di Luozzo, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at the Mount Sinai Health Care System. He currently is the Director of Thoracic Aortic Surgery at the Mount Sinai St. Luke’s and Beth Israel Campuses. He directs one of the largest Thoracic Aortic Programs in the country with over 1,400 patients maintained in his aortic aneurysm surveillance program. Dr. Di Luozzo is originally from New York City and has gained his training in Cardiac and Aortic Surgery in the New England area. He has returned to his roots in New York City and has been in practice for over 11 years. He has been on faculty at Mount Sinai Hospital for the majority of his time as a practicing cardiac surgeon. One of the main reasons Dr. Di Luozzo returned to New York was to work alongside Dr. Randall Griepp, a pioneer cardiac and aortic surgeon at Mount Sinai Hospital. After completing his aortic surgery fellowship, he joined Dr. Griepp as his associate until he retired in 2012. As a cardiac surgeon he has focused his practice on patients with valvular heart disease (like bicuspid aortic valve), aortic and connective tissue disorders (like Marfan and Loey-Dietz Disorder) and aortic dissections. He approaches most patients with valvular heart disease with a minimally invasive approach to reduce pain, blood loss and promote a more speedy recovery. With respect to aortic conditions, he specializes in all areas of the aorta from the aortic valve to the aortic bifurcation. He has a busy practice in aortic root (David procedure) replacement surgery, aortic arch and thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm repairs. He is one the busiest surgeons in the north east and south east regions with patients requiring an aortic arch and thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm repair.
