I have been to this office twice and I like the doctor. She is nice, very professional and most of all I didn't have to wait. As soon as I came in, the person at the counter assisted me and within few minutes, I was in the doctor's room.

Dr Petersen is a native of Los Angeles, California. She received a Doctorate of Optometry Degree from the Southern California College of Optometry in May, 1998. After working as an Optometrist for Kaiser Permanente of Southern California for six years, She relocated to the DC Metro area in 2004. She opened Eye Maxx Optical in September, 2006 and has been in private practice since. Dr Petersen has a friendly personality and a knack for making her patients feel comfortable. She conveys a genuine sense of caring while delivering quality eye care and providing excellent service.

Dr. Peterson was EXCELLENT! She was professional and quick. I was not impressed with the office staff. While seeing the Dr. they had music playing like it was a club and very unprofessional as the music had a few curse words. The staff was also a bit pushy which I'm not fond of. I would use Dr. Petersen again, but hope her staff has some customer relations/professionalism training.

This was my second visit with Dr. Gail. It's great how she explains everything that she is doing. She works with whatever insurance that you have. She also does testing beyond what I've experienced from any other optometrist - more like the exams one would get from an opthamologist. The last opthamologist I went to was mercenary - wanted to charge me hundreds just to get a prescription after giving me all sorts of diabetic testing. Dr. Peterson charged me the co-pay- and did the same things and gave me prescriptions for both eyeglasses and contacts, on two separate visits.

I highly recommend Dr. Peterson. She was very thorough in her eye examination and took her time to explain everything to me. I had a very pleasant experience at her office in comparison to my past eye office visits... where I felt like I was being treated like fast food.

She was great! I had previously been told I had the start of a cataract in my left eye at just 30 yrs old. The previous dr didn't explain anything and was really dismissive about it. I told Dr. Petersen and she spent a lot of extra time checking my left eye and said there was absolutely nothing there. I appreciate her taking the time to listen to me and really check. She is also very personable, overall.
