Dr. Chuang is hands down the best Dermatologist I have seen in years. He has a warm demeanor and bedside manner and is an expert in what he does. He gave me an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan that I did not receive in other dermatologists. He has restored my confidence and I am grateful to have him as my doctor!

I had a little scare and Dr. Chuang was able to squeeze me into his schedule. He is very professional and comforting. Luckily my diagnoses was nothing, but I would definitely recommend Dr. Chuang. Thank you for the kind attention.

Dr. Gary Chuang is a board-certified dermatologist and a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine.
Prior to joining UCLA, Dr. Chuang served as Director of Dermatologic and Cosmetic Surgery at Tufts Medical Center, a Clinical Associate of Dermatology Laser and Cosmetic Center at Massachusetts General Hospital and a Mohs surgeon at Boston Veteran Affairs Medical Center.
A graduate of Yale University, Dr. Chuang received his M.D. degree from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons where he also completed a highly competitive Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Training fellowship.
Dr. Chuang completed his residency at Boston University/Tufts Medical Center Combined Dermatology program where he served as a chief resident.
He then completed a rigorous Mohs micrographic surgery and reconstructive surgery fellowship in Charleston, South Carolina, specializing in cutaneous surgical oncology and complex surgical reconstruction. Subsequently, Dr. Chuang also completed a Laser & Cosmetic Surgery fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Chuang specializes in innovative processes to improve delivery of healthcare and patient safety, including inventing a bio-compatible fluorescent tattoo to minimize wrong-site surgery.
He has been recognized by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery with the Cutting Edge Research Award. He recently led a team of researchers across different institutions, including Harvard School of Public Health, Massachusetts General Hospital, Tufts Medical Center, and Boston University, shedding light on potential hazards of plume by-products in laser treatments. These by-products include toxic chemicals and nanoparticles that have been shown to compromise the health of those exposed. The results of this study were highlighted in the most recent annual meeting of the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery, gaining wide press attention with feature articles and interviews by Elle, Women’s Heath, and Good Morning America.
Active research includes non-surgical approach to skin cancer treatment and novel treatments for skin diseases including pigmentary disorders. He is currently in an executive MBA program at UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Dr. Chuang is my go to Dermatologist. I trust him with all skin related issues. He has helped me from Cosmetic skin related issues, to my baby's infantile Hemangioma, to my mothers birthmark. I would never make any decisions about dermatology related without consulting with Dr. Chuang first. He is knowledgeable and explains all issues very clearly and has a great bedside manner. Go to Dr. Chuang for an appointment!

Dr. Chuang is a caring and meticulous physician. I was very impressed with his amiable personality. I'm always nervous when visiting doctors, but Dr. Chuang helped ease all my concerns after 3 minutes into our conversation. Dr. Gary Chuang is the best dermatologist I have come across in years. I have always suffered with acne. On my first visit he explained in great detail of treatment options and how the process of laser treatment will take. In 6 months of topical treatment my skin is clear and it has been years since my skin has looked like this. Thanks to Dr. Chuang and his years of expertise, I strongly recommend him.

Dr. Chuang is one amazing Dermatologist!
I had an instance when I needed 911 derm care. I came back from abroad with a bad rash. Not only did he fit me into his busy schedule, he diagnosed my rash and my skin was better within the first week of using the medication he prescribed. Dr. Chuang also followed up with me and made sure I was doing okay. I was blown away by his care for me and his reassurance that I was in good hands. Dr. Chuang provides amazing quality care. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Chuang has been very accommodating to my needing to know everything. He takes the time to explain all issues by using simple analogies so I understand and also by giving me different treatment options. He also prescribes alternative medications such as generics which will help you save!
