Dr. Gary Jean-Baptiste is a comforting, thorough primary care doctor and family physician treating patients in Brooklyn and the greater New York City area. I came to the appointment 30 minutes early and was still not seen until an hour after the appoitment time. Dr. Jean-Baptiste's bedside manner was decent at best. I'm not sure if I will keep him as a PCP.

I came to this office looking for a doctor that took my plan from Puerto Rico that is supposed to have coverage in the mainland. When I went they told me I had to cover it out of pocket cause they couldn't verify if my plan could cover it. I didn't have much time so I did it and they gave me an invoice that I could take to the insurance to claim it later. They took over an hour to attend me. The lady was fairly friendly, the doctor was kind of impersonal and never really told me any specifics about what to do and what not to do when taking the drugs prescribed, etc. He told me the results from my test would be available in a certain amount of time, so I called at that time later on and they told me they take longer than that, and that I should call, not expect a call from them. Never again.

I usually visit my doctor once a year for my physical. I require referrals for preexisting conditions and once I convey this over the phone to the assistants they are more than on the ball and willing to accommodate me.

The visit was okay. This is a fairly new office where they did have any supplies in the rooms. I couldn't tell who was a nurse or a MEdical Assistant. Their equipment looked old and their floors were killing me. The Doctor was okay but he seemed to be in a rush and wanted to sit in front of a computer.

I made an appointment for 12pm, I was on my way to the office and received a voicemail less than an hour before my appointment telling me the doctor will be an hour late. The receptionist said to take my time to get there. She did not even ask if i wanted to reschedule. I took that time to run some errands. I came in at 1:40 , I explained the situation to the receptionist and was asked to have a seat. After an hour of waiting I asked how much longer it would be and the receptionist said she does not know because I arrived late to the appointment. I explained to her again the situation and she said she has to ask someone else what to do because she doesn't control what goes on in the back. At 4:08 I was finally called back into the office. I was seen by a student, she tried to take my blood pressure, but could not because the machine was not working. Instead of trying something else she skipped over that part and began reading my test results. I made an appointment to see a doctor, not to have a student look at my results and attempt to make a diagnosis. She left the room and I waited an additional 30 minutes for the doctor to see me. I was with him for 10 minutes before I left at 4:50. This is the worst experience I've ever had with an office00. I really like how they have everything in the office for tests, but it is not worth it. I was furious by the time I left. It wasn't necessarily the medical staff, but the wait time was ridiculous and the receptionist needs to be trained properly.

According to Zocdoc I made a podiatry appointment but Dr. Jean-Baptiste isn't a podiatrist. I waited over 2 hours to be told I need to see a podiatrist which I already knew. This is not the Doctor (or his office's) fault, but it did waste my entire afternoon so no, I'm not happy about it. Again, this is not the fault of the office. They were sweet even if the wait time was considerable.

I was extremely late to my appointment, but I was still seen and only had to wait 15 minutes. I was greeted by a student of Dr. Jean-Baptiste and he did my assessment. His bedside manner was amazing, he asked all of the right questions and knew what he was talking about. Dr. Jean-Baptiste entered the room 10 minutes later and was a bit weird. He made no eye contact with me, was very fidgety and seemed like he did not care. The student told Dr. Jean-Baptiste everything we went over and the Dr. told him what we need to do next. He then left the room and I never saw him again. The student was great, the technician who did my sonogram was also amazing. She was so friendly and made me feel very comfortable. Overall I had a pleasant experience. It would have been a 5 star visit had Dr. Jean-Baptiste shown some sort of interest in me. Also the receptionist needs to be re-trained, he lacks professionalism and his desk area was very messy.

He has two med students running my appointment and it was just a mess -- late to start, they didn't know what parts of the exam the doctor wanted me to do, and then I haven't heard anything in over 10 days about the lab work we did.

I have had negative experiences in the past but this will be the last time I visit Dr. Jean-Baptiste. My appointment was at 2:30 PM so I show up a few minutes before. At around 2:50 a man who was waiting before me went to the receptionist asking how long the wait is because he has been waiting for over an hour. At 3:10 I notice Dr. Jean-Baptiste casually walking into the office from outside (maybe he was on lunch). I do not get called in until 4:53 PM! Over two hours after my appointment time! Once I am with the doctor he checks me and asks what is wrong. He does not seem very interested. The whole procedure was about 5 minutes before I left. I waited almost 2.5 hours to be checked up for 5 minutes. Never again! It's not just me because everyone was waiting for at least 1-2 hours before being seen. They overbook appointments and are not very professional.

Nice medical assistant. But long waiting time. Came in at 3:20. Was out at 5 pm. Dr did not even present himself. Did not explain the process. Just came in : "put your feet here and here" and insert the speculum. It was traumatizing. And to think that one step of the board it s about bedside manner. That's sad. First off, the address was incorrect and I had to travel to their temporary location after calling the office to clarify. Wait time was fine barring the travel time. When I arrived I let the receptionists (who were very helpful btw) know that I was considering Doctor JB to be my regular physician. Despite this, I was examined by (2) med students who were friendly but obviously did not represent the practice. When Doctor JB finally examined me, he did not take the time to understand my condition or get to know me whatsoever. After about (3) minutes, he prescribed me penicillin for my swollen tonsils. Only reason I'm writing this is because I've finished the prescription (2) days ago and the symptoms are persisting so I need to book another appointment. This time I'll look a little harder for a doctor that pays more attention to his patients.

Fairly unprofessional office and poor communication. Took 4 tries to get blood for a test on my first routine visit. Then had conflicting results. Took another test, and was told a week later they need to do it again because it needs to be frozen. This is something they should know before hand, rather than put me on edge for a week for information that is vital for my long term health.

I came here out of necessity. I read the reviews, but I thought I would still give the facility a try. The reviews are spot on. The wait was long, and I had to ask if Dr.Jean-Baptiste was coming in. I guess the staff could tell I was not happy because they offered to let me be seen by the other doctor on duty. I agreed but Dr. Jean-Baptiste arrived before the other doctor came in. I was examined, and told that my lungs were clear. He decided an antibiotic was the answer. Great!! I was taken to the reception area where Dr. Jean-Baptiste asked about current medications. Because my medication information is very personal, I gave the doctor a list that is in my phone. Dr. Jean-Baptiste began saying the names of my medication. Wrong move! I will not return.

Visited this doctor three times before and the interns there show way more care and interest than the doctor does. Although at my last visit I was given my blood results by an intern that did not seem like she had a clue about what she was taking about. After that I waited well over an hour for the doctor to see me and when I tried telling him my symptoms he was very quick to say it was this or that without asking me any questions. When I tried to ask questions he kept telling me the same answers again and again like he wanted me to get out of the office. I waited an hour and a half for this?!!!

Very happy I was able to see this Dr. I made a last minute appointment. He gave me a prescription to the medicine I needed. I'm looking forward to getting better. He seemed pretty thorough. He even checked my hernia which I wasn't even there for.

He doesn't see his patients, he has nervous and untrained medical students ask you questions. The Drs office will refuse to refill your meds so you have to see them and they can bill your insurance. When You finally get to see the dr, it's for one minute and he's wearing an adidas track suit doesn't look like a dr at all. Very bizarre. Had to change doctors
