Dr. Gem Lucas was born and grew up in New Jersey. She graduated from Rutgers University with Honors and later from The University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in coastal Maine. She completed both residency in General Adult Psychiatry and a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, serving as Chief Resident for one year as well while there. She is board certified in Adult General Psychiatry and Child Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. After fellowship, she completed more training resulting in board certified in Addiction Medicine by The American Board of Preventive Medicine. She loves Positive Psychology and Positive Psychiatry, Meditation, as well as Music and Art Therapies. She is excited to have joined us here at Westside Family Medicine.
