Getting to know Gia Nevel
Gia is an ANCC board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who has worked in a variety of settings, including behavioral health and acute care. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from UC Berkeley, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, graduating summa cum laude from West Coast University. She subsequently obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from the same institution.
Gia takes a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive approach, taking the time to understand each individual’s history and experiences. Her goal is to ensure that each of her patients feels valued, particularly those from underserved communities, throughout the course of care. She supports her patients in developing their inner capacity for healing by fostering an open, safe, and collaborative environment.
Gia works with her clients to achieve their goals through a combination of approaches, including medication management, supportive therapy, interventional modalities, and lifestyle modifications. Her clinical focus includes depression, mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, disordered eating, grief and bereavement, spirituality, stress management, as well as LGBTQIA+ and women’s mental health.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling, staying active, reading, and spending time with her two dogs.
