My appointment was awesome. I actually went to this doctor due to not being “heard” at another GI’s office. She has an awesome bedside manner, and she actually cares. So knowledgeable, she really put me at ease. Her office is 30 minutes from my house, and the Catonsville office is closer, but she left such a lasting impression on me - it’s worth the drive!

Finding a good, female gasteroenteroligist in the DC metro area, who can see you within a month, is difficult. A coworker and friend recommended Dr. Joy. This visit was worth the long drive. This appointment was the precursor to my first colonoscopy. I had anxieties about being a vegetarian and prepping for this. I'm not a diabetic but I can't go too long without a meal and that made me anxious too. Dr. Joy eased my anxiety. She gave basic information about the process. She made me feel comfortable to chat with her. The brief conversation was a two-sided one and that's important for patients. I will come back and write a review after I get my colonoscopy done.
