To those that are struggling with a child suffering from ODD, ADHD, C-PTSD, anxiety - any type, depression, DMDD, and I could go on because my son has been diagnosed with all of those, and then some, over the years since the age of 5 (he is currently 16), please hear me when I say Dr. Mueller can, and will, help.
While my son is no longer a patient of hers, he was for close to 10 years, and she went through the good, bad, and the very ugly with us. She listened to both my son and I. There was, of course, a ton of trial and error in medication, but it wasn't just about forcing medicine down his throat, it was also about what was happening at home, his father's murder, past abuse he witnessed by his father, making sure he had therapy and another person to talk to, supporting him when he told her he was doing JROTC and HEARING him when he told her, personally, how he felt that was helping him.
Yes, once she found the medications that helped, his behavior changed drastically (especially the explosive rage! ODD), but, again, trial and error, and a ton of patience from everyones end, including hers.
She GENUINELY cares about her patients mental health, physical health, and overall well-being and I attribute a great deal to my son's changes to her patience and not giving up on him, or even me.
If you were to ask my son who the best psychiatrist he's ever had, he will say Dr. Mueller every time - and he, unfortunately, seen many throughout his short life span. I know this because he still talks about her a year after his final session with her. He even made a statement last night when I was telling him about a family member of ours whose son is struggling with eerily similar behaviors that said family member should take her son to talk to Dr. Mueller.
Thank you, Dr. Mueller, for leaving a lifelong impact on my son and all the patience you showed him (and me) over the years that he was your patient. You were literally a life saver and I 100% believe that B is doing as well as he is, and thriving, because of your support and help!!!

Dr. Heath Mueller is board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She completed both her Bachelor of Science degree and her Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Oklahoma. Following completion of her medical training, she completed four years of training in general psychiatry at the OU-TU School of Community Medicine. While in residency she gained additional experience in psychiatric crisis management while moonlighting at the Tulsa Center for Behavioral Health. At the completion of her residency, she was awarded the Senior Resident Excellence in Clinical Care Award by the residency program faculty. Dr. Mueller worked in adult mental health at Laureate Psychiatric Hospital and Clinic from 2013-2015 but always knew she wanted to work with children. When OU opened the first child psychiatry fellowship in Tulsa, she was the first applicant accepted to the program. Following completion of her child psychiatry fellowship, Dr. Mueller served as assistant professor at OU in the Department of Psychiatry from 2017-2023. In addition to providing outpatient care for children, teens and young adults, Dr. Mueller supervised child fellows during their training to become future child psychiatrists. She is proud to have helped train a dozen child psychiatrists, many of whom are still practicing in Oklahoma. Dr. Mueller promotes wellness and mindfulness for both her patients and colleagues. She completed over 100 hours of mindfulness training through the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) pioneered by Jon Kabat-Zinn. She engaged in a research project entitled, “Mindful Teachers” that involved training elementary school teachers in the practice of mindfulness with an aim to improve their ability to handle stress in the classroom and beyond.
