Dr. Helen Plavnik grew up in Russia and immigrated to the United States in 1988. She received her B.S. in biochemistry, with honors, from the University of Chicago. After receiving her M.D. from University of Illinois, Chicago, she completed her residency in OB/GYN at Lutheran General Hospital. Dr. Plavnik is affiliated with Advocate Lutheran General Hospital and Rush North Shore Medical Center. She is a Board Certified Fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Doctor is ok but could be more welcoming, her answers was short and not clear didn’t feel comfortable. But worse doctor could be only Russian speaking lady on front desk , so rude to costumers and not professional, all this place remind me Soviet Union hospital with rude nurses and not competent doctors . Not recommend to no one .

Worst staff ever. Not welcome people who is not Poland. I found her from Zocdoc because she was in network my insurance. When I go there staff was so rude that can not even talk normally, alway shouted. Then I requested to talk to Dr. Helen and staff laugh at me and said of course you can talk to her. The doctor came out and her communication manner was exactly same. Also clinic is not clean for gynecology.

The doctor is great and also her secretary. All the personal speak polish mostly, as wells as the majority of the patients. At first that was a surprise for me but the doctor is amazing, knowledge, profesional, gentle, compressive.

First time getting my pap smear done. Took me years since I was scared about it. But after being there, Dr. PLAVNIK, made it seems like it was nothing. She talked me through everything she was doing and how it will feel. I had a great experience. Definitely coming next year again. Now I look forward to it.

Had to wait a very, very long time (about 1.5 hrs) for a very short visit with the doctor (approx. 5-10 mins). Then I get an outrageously high bill in the mail. After doing the legwork on my end calling my insurance to get the bill down and after paying that amount, I get a call from the office that they never got my payment. So I had to go to the bank to get a copy of the check showing it was cashed by this office. Very inconvenient, expensive, and lack of any explanation of services. To make matters worse, when I logged in online to see my medical files, there was a note in there about a cyst that I was never told about by the doctor! I will not be returning and recommend others go elsewhere.

Dr. Plavnik was very professional, friendly, and patient. It was my first annual pap smear, so I was a little worried/afriaid. Dr. Plavnik explained what she would do and what I would be experiencing beforehand (to calm me down). During the exam, she was very gentle and made eye contact with me most of the time, so I wasn't uncomfortable at all. After the check, she told me when I should expect calls from the office regarding the results and stuff. Highly recommend!

Dr. Plavnik was Great.. She was very patient and answered all the questions my husband and I had.. It was our first appointment for my pregnancy and she did bloodwork and scheduled us for an ultrasound which she does right in her office once the bloodwork results come in.. We're so excited..

It was such a great first experience! I went in there for my first time getting a pep smear and in general going to a OB-GYN. I was nervous but it was a great first experience. The nurse was super nice and it was great talking to her. The doctor was SUPER great. Super nice. I explained that It was my first time and she went through the whole process with me explaining absolutely everything she was going to do. It was actually a fun appointment. The staff where all super friendly which I liked. Only thing was the wait time was longer than 30 minutes but I still had a great experience. I would definitely recommed it to anyone especially if you are a little nervous going there for your first time. Thank you so much guys for making my first experience great. Shout out to the blond nurse and Mrs. Helen for a great experience.

In addition to that, every staff member that I interacted with was very friendly and helpful as well. I was beyond impressed with my experience at Dr. Helen Plavnik and her office staff. My first contract was with Lana and I must say that was completely blown away by how helpful, kind and how fast she was at getting back to me. A lot of doctors don’t realize how important it is to have administration like Lana, fortunately at Dr. Plavnik’s office this is not the case.
As per the appointment, the great service continued on with the nurses and the entire staff there. The called me in on time, once they took me inside, they were very caring, polite and made me feel very comfortable, which helps lot especially in a doctor's office. When the time came for Dr. Plavnik to see me, the first contact with her immediately brought a big smile on my face, through her bright smile and personality, which cannot be missed.
As we started to talk about my pregnancy, she intentionally and carefully listened to each of our concerns. What set her apart was, without having to rush through the appointment, she with the years in her field, she addressed each and every concern of mine with a sense of sincerity and confidence. She made me feel relaxed throughout the appointment, which is a huge plus for any patient!
She is a great doctor who has a plethora of medical knowledge in her specialty, which can be clearly seen throughout the time I was with her. She treats the whole person, listens to the questions/concerns and addresses them in a very professional and helpful manner. She takes the time to be caring even while maintaining a very efficient office staff. I am blessed to have her as my doctor, who gives the best advice and future treatment options for the finest care for my health. Dr. Helen Plavnik, would be a blessing to any patient who is willing to have her as their doctor. I would highly recommend her.

Dr. Plavnik has sen me on time. She makes me feel very comfortable while talking to her and welcomes any question that I have. She really listens to me, offers the solution and follows up with the details on the treatment plan. I totally trust her! In my opinion, I've never had a better doctor then Dr. Plavnik. She has wonderful manners and comprehensive knowledge. She will work with you and for you.

Every my visit to dr. H. Plavnik is giving me complete satisfaction and highly professional care. Dr. Plavnik is extremely careful, caring and knowledgeable doctor. She listens very carefully your complaints, problems, reaction on medication and make the right decision to treat your diagnosis. She recommends tests she thinks are necessary to help her to find problem and treat it.

I am impressed by professionalism and tact of Dr. Plavnik and her staff. The appointments are on time, the schedule is convenient. Dr. Plavnik answered all the questions and was very friendly. You can see she is a great listener and caring. There is no feel that the Dr. is in a hurry to get out like in some other places. Dr. Plavnik makes sure that all my questions and concerns are addressed before she leaves the room.
