Hrair Darakjian, M.D. specializes in general orthopedic and spine surgeries, joint replacement, arthroscopic surgery, sports medicine and injury management. His practice in conjunction with Pain Free Life offers the full spectrum of Orthopedic care including in-house physical therapy and chiropractic care.
Dr. Darakjian is from Chicago, where he graduated with high honors from the University of Illinois with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Biology and from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. After completing a five-year orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Chicago Hospital and Clinic, he then completed a post-graduate, 12-month fellowship in spinal surgery at Long Beach Memorial Hospital under the direction of Leon Wiltse, M.D., a world-renowned spinal surgery authority.
Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, he is a fellow in the Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and a member of the North American Spine Society.
Dr. Darakjian has lectured at national and international spinal seminars, and has been a consultant to numerous insurance carriers. Dr. Darakjian and his wife Nadia have two children, Christopher and Daniele. He enjoys many outside interests including playing the piano and being involved with the latest computer technology.
